More than a half million numbers are rising in 43 states, roughly a third of all new cases are coming from the midwest. A member of the White House CoronavirusTask Force Said that the numbers arent just up because of more testing. Even though testing is up. This is a real increase in cases. We know that not only because the case numbers are up and we can see that but hospitalizations are going up. The federal effort to accelerate production of a vaccine is already producing tens of millions of doses. Even before any vaccine candidate has even been proven safe and effective. The nearly ten billion that programs goal is to deliver 300 million dose was the initial doses available by january of next year. The cost for individual states to handle the Distribution Process is still unclear. Estimates for that could run another 8. 5 billion. You see where all that uncertainty and how this could affect the economy is coming from and affecting the stock markets. The drug maker still in a race for approval right now and pfizer just asked the fda for special approval for emergency use for its vaccine potentially as soon as november. Minutes ago we learned alameda is aiming to open middle and high schools as early as november 9th but its all on the schools completing a health and safety reopening plan. Schools are not required to reopen and the decision and timing of when to open rests with each school and school district. Alameda is in the orange reopening tier.
