We are seeing speeds dipping down to about 19 miles an hour there with a 32 minute drive time from 205 toward 680. Also chp still working on a trouble spot. You have a big rig blocking the high street onramp to northbound 880. Firefighters in Southern California struggling to contain the silverado fire. One of two explosive wind whipped wildfires in Orange County that forced the evacuation of almost 70,000 homes and badly injured two crew members. This is new video of flames around lake forest. The fire and the blue ridge fires have grown to almost 30,000 acres combined in less than 48 hours. At last word silverado was only 5 contained. Some different numbers on how many homes have been damaged. They are all less than a dozen but still thousands of homes are considered threatened. Now the good news, some communities were allowed to return home last night the cause of the fire still under investigation. It sounds like the Power Company down there may be partially to blame. Developing this morning pg e crews are working to get all of the power restored from the shut offs. They hope to have lights back on for everybody by noon. Here is a look at the current outage map. The areas in purple are still in the dark. Thats a few hundred houses. The utility said there is evidence that the outages helped during the wind event. It found about 36 problem spots that could have sparked fires. Now to a fire in the Oakland Hills that destroyed two homes amid dangerous conditions on montclairs marywood drive. It was likely sparked by an over loaded generator. A strike team was quick on the scene. It was under control after two hours. Also developing, 28ucfs Health Care Workers under quarantine. Five people at the hospital tested positive for coronavirus. Two patients and three workers. Officials say that they were infected the virus at the parnassus campus. Ucfs said we have not yet determined the original source or exact sequence of the infections but we have isolated the patients and employees and are working to identity, test and quarantine other individuals who may have been exposed to them. A state is reporting a slight increase in coronavirus cases. The positive rate has been just under 3 over the last two weeks but slightly higher. 3. 2 over the past seven days. The icu rate is up nearly 6 . Hospitalizations are also up 4. 7 . In sonoma, 12 workers at a hospital have tested positive for the coronavirus. Its believed no patients are infected. Public Health Officials say all 320 of the hospitals employees have now been tested. The countys Health Officer said that ongoing Contact Tracing will shed light on the situation. Artists on San Franciscos hey street have found an unusual way to try to save their housing. Its a weekly drag show. Large crowds are coming out in front every saturday night. The real drama of this drag show is whats taking place off stage. Its difficult to put into words. I hesitate to even call it drag. If one were to try. Gender nonconforming preforming art. From the crowd in the street to the preformers on stage, its a lot of people who consider themselves others. People that you usually dont see in main stream drag. While the stage is a bare it all silly soulful, sexual melodrama the real story is behind the scene. Nearly everybody you saw on stage is at risk offer losing their housing. They have been staying inside the Red Victorian which used to be a hotel but the pandemic shut it down and many worked inside the hotel and then started staying here during the pandemic.
