Im happy to report it is relatively mild with moderate airquality readings. Same inland at contra costa and alameda county. It is moderate which is what we are seeking for much of the city and east bay. There are even some green reporting stations. The only concern is in the valleys of wine country where we are looking at unhealthy air quality conditions. By the way, the forecast for the rest of the day fits the description. Yellow is moderate, but good and can do comparison to where we were. Orange for south bay shows us unhealthy for sensitive groups. If you are inland at alameda and contra costa county, you may experience unhealthy air quality. Today is more of a good news story because we keep the onshore flow going pushing this storm inland. That is good for the smoke forecast. Advancing to monday, you can see that we could still pull up smoke from the south and the glass fire will continue to put smoke into the air for the north bay. Now lets look at the chance of rain for saturday. We have a hurricane here that will fall apart and it will pull into the important first storm of the season. They will come together at the same time and that is why this could be a noticeable rainmaker. Watch the rain get pulled into the system. By the time we get to saturday, a potential for widespread rain across northern california. The amounts are in question. How much will we get . The forecast models, looking out six days are bullish on the idea that this will not be a light rainmaker and it will be enough rain, especially for the mountains north of the bay area to have a Significant Impact on the fires up there. Keep your fingers crossed that this comes to fruition. We could use it to put in into fire season. If we get enough rain, it could potentially put an end to fire station season at the coast range and even the northern sierra. Having said that, today is sunday and this does not get here until saturday. We should not be doing a forecast for specific rain amounts six days out. But, because this is an important factor in what we need more than anything, we will focus on this with detail. I hear your caveat, but this is how much i trust you.
