A Traffic Alert continues sow to 1 connector to south 808 is completely shut down as fire crews and emergency crews work on an accident involving an overturned vehicle. Theyve got a lot of activity there on scene. They have called out tow crews to the scene as well. So hopefully theyll be clearing this shortly. But in the meantime, traffic is still closed in that area for that connector south 101 over to south 880. Were starting to see a few brake lights also northbound 101 working your way out of the south bay in that area as you approach the 280 and 680 connector. Traffic is getting busy in the Altamont Pass. This is near downtown walnut woods drive and clements avenue. Just south of the intersection of 101 and 680. Just before midnight, police got the call and one person was found dead. Officers saw several shell casings along clements avenue and the body was found in between two vehicles. So officers have spent the last several hours speaking to neighbors and at least one witness there at the scene. The city says its dying ncle se locals are protective of it. I thought about getting hoisted up in there and you know, sleeping in there a couple of nights. Ill could see doing that shes getting our point across. Its actually got a heart on the back of the tree. And so to me, its kind of like the heart of pleasanton. This tree has been here all these years and if left alone it will probably be here another 100 years, who knows . The city plans to bring out the chainsaws today. Bay bridge just past the toll plaza near metering lights two left lanes now are completely shut down. Its a crash involving a motorcycle and another vehicle. Injuries reported. So fire crews and emergency crews just arriving on scene in that area, g usino of it really has a trickledown effect on the morning commute especially out of the east bay. Live look here at the toll plaza. Now seeing brake lights off the eastshore freeway westbound as well as westbound 580 as well. In the meantime stick with alternate routes. Public transit or san mateo bridge might be the best bet to get across from the east bay over to the peninsula. Trying to get to the other side of San Francisco, maybe near the golden gate bridge, you might want to use the Richmond San Rafael bridge. San mateo bridge, extra volume but so far as far as your drive times go, still only about 15 minutes to go between 880 over to 101. Our other busy spot is that commute through 580. Westbound coming out of tracy heading into the Altamont Pass. We still have a lot of brake lights there with a 38 minute drive time. 205 over to 680. Now i want to update you on the latest information fromniail sy expected to be closed through the roast the year. It was shut down abruptly last week a couple of days after re opening the problem is two faulty parts and in addition to that an employee in the Transportation Management hub tested positive for covid19. So will be replaced by buses while extensive repairs are made on the system. So a mix of smoke and fog this morning. Were looking at that bad air that remains trapped at the surface. So we have that ridge of High Pressure just kind of acting like a dome trapping the smoke at the surface. Still smoky as we look to our afternoon. And continuing actually over the next several days. In fact, we are going to see that ridge of High Pressure strengthening and that means our heat wave will kick in again for our holiday weekend. So checking air quality conditions, it does look better for many spots except for parts of the peninsula. Re air, the red and purple dots indicating that. For the south bay, san jose, moderate air quality for you. Looking at unhealthy air for sensitive groups for union city to fremont. And for concord, walnut creek, danville, looking at moderate air quality around the bay, moderate in saano and for oakland. Thats great to see.
