the weather. >> it is certainly very foggy outside. and when i say foggy, it is very dense in certain places thanks to the high pressure system that is in play. it is compressing and making it very thick and low, taking a live look out of the salesforce tower, you can see the fog is because of the high pressure system pushed it down to a lower elevation and what that means is we are not going to see a lot of intrusion into inland areas the cold we are pretty mu the 50s jose 62 degrees. ur temperature change, it will be cooler where we can see the fog in san francisco cooler by 2 degrees, hayward down one degree and these temperatures will start to climb into the afternoon hours. we will be close to if not in the triple digits in the inland areas. san francisco with good visibility and along the coast down to about one minute mile or a mile and three quarters in petaluma. it is pretty much bottlenecked through the gap in the golden gate and places right there. i will tell you how getting warmer before the farther north you go. looking at all of the origin potentially read, there is a triple digit at clear lake at 100. if you are sensitive to the heat, be careful and cautious start with a check of the foggy weather. >> is foggy out there in some parts, but others it is nice and clear and it will be hot. that is an easy litmus test. if you can look up and see clear skies, get ready for warmer temperatures. if not, it will be cooler. looking towards the east, you can see it is nice and clear and that is one of the spots that will get really close to the triple digits in the inland areas and still relatively cool at 62 in livermore. saa rosa 54 the temperatures are going to climb and compared to this time yesterday, the areas where the ball can reach is a little cooler, but in the inland areas, warmer and that will change. it will combine about midday and we will be at or above where we were yesterday and in some spots warmer than that. the current visibility as a result of the fog, it is compressed because of a high- pressure system that makes it dense and it is trying to get into the bottleneck area xo petaluma gap, visibility not great. same of the golden gate over the golden gate bridge, you have a traffic advisory due to low visibility and still relatively good in most parts of santa rosa. again, taking a look at that, it will start to warm hours. a new study is painting a clear picture of how many frontline responders develop coronavirus antibodies. kpix 5 listed the findings and what they mean for essential workers. >> reporter: researchers believe the results are among the first studies looking at urban firefighters testing positive for covid-19 antibodies. the numbers are small, but the implications are significant. in a pandemic, there is no working from home for front- line workers. >> firefighters, we are concerned that in february and march time period, before we can aware that covid was circulating in the bay area, that they might have been exposed to the fire stations and on the fire runs and paramedic runs. >> reporter: 1200 san francisco firefighters at the end of june voluntarily took antibody tests for a you see sf study. the equivalent of two point that you .2% came up positive. >> it has indicated that the strong public health measures in the bay area or shelter in place that went into effect in mid-march. along with the really good work practices in ppe that are being used by our first responders. it has been working. >> reporter: nearly half of the firefighters reported likely or confirmed contact with people who have covid-19. according to researchers, the vast majority of firefighters said they were following safety protocols with ppe. >> we have told everybody basically, be vigilant, keep using the ppe and that would be my message l frontline seial w worker protection programs in place, with the kind of protections we have had for frontline responders, in san francisco, i think we could be protecting all frontline workers. >> reporter: according to ucsf, 1 to 9% tested positive which is more than the study of the firefighters. they say one of the reasons could be the prevalence of covid-19 in san francisco was low at the time of the study. a growing number of cities are using fines to force people to wear masks, the south lake tahoe code is taking a different a new approach to covid-19 obey. a group of volunteers are tasked with walking through the town to hand out masks and encouraging people to comply with the help order. >> i want to keep t ansa anthe more than 2000 businesses in san francisco, oakland and hayward area have closed since july 10th. that includes 300 restaurants and 300 retailers. about 3000 more san francisco businesses have temporarily closed. south bay, which yelp counts as a separate metropolitan area, had almost 630 permanent closures as of july 10th. frustrated san francisco gym owners are launching a social media campaign in order to get back to work. dozens of gyms and fitness studios around the city are putting up posts like this will social media. telling people how they can help save san francisco gyms. the steps include wearing a mask, booking outdoor workouts with gyms that are offering that and sharing the posts to get the word out that the gyms are hurting. >> we are asking all of them to go morning, transit is launching a new express bus him. the blue and purple fleet has been dubbed tempo ac transit. starting today, the line runs of dedicated bus lanes from uptown oakland and buses will pressure system sitting off of the coast. up here is this low pressure system and as this starts to move out, the low pressure system will be dropping and bringing more clouds, cooler temperatures and that will probably happen about tuesday or wednesday and we will be back down closer to average for this time of the year. high temperatures today will be in the 90s in the south bay. san jose at 90. 86 in redwood city and along the coast, thanks to the fog and coastal influence, it will be 65 and cool. inland, we will be close to the triple digits. 79 degrees in vallejo and around the bay, a mix of the 60s and 70s. 66 degrees in daly city. 63 in sausalito. 95 in rohnert park and north bay, triple digit at 100. 90 degrees in windsor. it will be warm up there for short. for those of you watching golf, it will be beautiful and we make it to the afternoon hours and it will be 68 degrees and sunny at harding park. the 7 day shows us topping out before things didn't like them and looking
