Now on the flip side, the state did grant Alameda County a variance so that Outdoor Dining can resume. Face coverings are required at all times. Cal train may have catapulted to the top of the endangered list because of something, well, something not a lot of people saw coming. Even for those who hang on bay area transit issues, it came as a shock when San Francisco supervisors decided not to advance a November Ballot measure for a cal train dedicated sales tax. Cal train is operated by san tabs. Which means San Francisco voters and San Francisco leadership dont actually make decisions as to what happens. We were never hot about a sales tax. Explaining their decision today, the supervisors pointed to the long standing rift over how the system is managed and funded. San mateo county saved cal train multiple times. We stepped up with money when San Francisco and Santa Clara County didnt want to. He represents San Mateo County on the cal train board of directors, he says the three county sales tax originally drawn up to modernize the system is needed to save it from the pandemic. He says without the ballot measures. It may well just mean the end of cal train as weve come to understand it. Why would you have a power struggle in the middle of a pandemic thats causing so much destruction. Why take action to make the destruction worse . Beginning today, the Trump Administration is changing the way hospitals report coronavirus numbers. The department of health and Human Services sent this letter to hospitals. Demanding they send information directly to hhs in washington and not the cdc in atlanta. That data includes the number of coronavirus patients as well as available beds and ventilators.
