Good morning, we are going to heat up here in the bay area as we are going through the temperatures. They will climb even hotter compared to yesterday. Check out temperatures right now. 64 in concord, 63 in oakland, 66 in livermore and san jose, 58 in San Francisco and 56 for santa rosa. We have a heat advisory in effect through our day and not just a day but for wednesday and for thursday due to this heat. Most of the bay area except for the coast and the immediate shoreline is under heat advisory from 11 am until 7 pm. We have to limit outdoor exposure and stay hydrated. The hottest days will be today and tomorrow. The air quality is unhealthy for sensitive groups to the north bay and east bay and for the south bay. Here is what you can expect. Sunshine, hotter weather, and the heat wave will break later this week and we actually are tracking a weather system that will bring the chance of some showers by saturday. It is 91 in san leandro and our highs for the north they are topping out in the mid to upper 90s now lets show you the extended forecast as we are looking at triple digit heat in lead tomorrow. And then we are going to cool down as we look ahead to the end of the week, especially into the weekend. Lets look at traffic. Good morning, looking at the roadways. We have a car fire with firefighters on scene. This is around highway 4 near hercules. It is impacting the connector. You might see some closures or some activity until they get this car fire under control. Not a lot of cars on the roadway just yet, so things are looking okay. They did not say if any lanes were blocked. Elsewhere, into the alatoona pass, so far, so good. There is slight slowing around westbound 20501 580 but right now, things are looking good in both directions. If you want to utilize public transit, check the schedule before you go outside. They are still operating on a modified or reduced schedule from 5 00 to 9 00 and focusing on core routes like the 42 trains throughout the day. So far, so good for the bay area bridges. It is an easy ride into the city. Same for the san mateo bridge. Traffic is off to a great start between 880 and 101 and if you are going to the roadways, the Golden Gate Bridge is nice and quiet. There is roadwork just north of here as you make your way along 101 near the waldo bridge. That is a look at traffic. It is 4 51 am. The city of berkeley has reopened tennis and pickleball courts for singles play. Most Neighborhood Parks and recreation facilities in the city are still closed and masks are not required on court that all players must have a Face Covering with them. Some travelers are taking their inflight hygiene habits a step further by wearing hazmat suits. Many carriers such as philippine airlines, airasia and Qatar Airways are requiring flight attendants to wear hazmat suits on planes. A centers for Disease Control and prevention spokesperson says wearing one is not necessary and could cause undue concern for other travelers. They recommend wearing a Face Covering instead.
