I think for the most part, san franciscans have been great citizens. They have really stepped up to the plate and have listened to our orders and have done a lot to help educate others on what that would mean and so far, it has been okay. This is day one and we have three weeks to go. Maybe even longer. I think it is important that people understand that we probably need to be prepared for the long run. Also, we want to make sure that we make it clear that essential City Services will continue to be open and available. The pickups in the deliveries can happen. We have been listening to the mayors press conference and we heard from the director from the department of Public Health as well as the police chief. The mayor is putting in for businesses, a moratorium on evictions and a relief fund to help the Small Businesses that have been forced to close. We also heard from the police chief talking about compliance with the shelter in place. They did not want people in restaurants and bars. They went out and checked the bars and he was very pleased to report that compliance was good. People are doing what they are supposed to be doing. Also they will be hiring 100 nurses. There are a few other businesses, in fact a lot on the list of essential businesses you might not have considered. They have staff that disinfect the washing machines and dryers and is giving out gloves and Hand Sanitizer plus this. We have turned up our water temperature to 150 degrees to make sure that the heat will kill any virus or bacteria in the clothing.
