with attempted kidnapping and assault after he jumped a man in a wheelchair on the floor. the suspect had parked in a handicapped space at target without a handicap lacquered. when the victim tried to call police the suspect grabbed his wheelchair and flipped him out of it on to the ground. police in east palo alto are investigating the first homicide of the year after a person was shot to death. officers got a report of shots fired shortly after 8 pm on the 900 block last night when they arrived to the scene they found a person had been shot. paramedics were called in but it was too late. we are told no arrests have been made. police are looking for a suspect seen on camera stealing several packages. you can see him slowly walking down the hall where he hesitantly stops and grants one package. than he makes his way back up the hall and grabbed nearly every other package from the bottom shelf. the suspect is wanted for questioning. if you recognize him call police. police have made an arrest and and attempted kidnapping. police say the abduction attempt happened at a goodwill store saturday afternoon. investigators believe that a 39- year-old man tried to take somebody else's two-year-old son. they say cesar gutierrez was about to leave the boy out of the store when the child's father confronted him. gutierrez let go with the boys hand. officers arrested him monday night covered today. a man is in critical condition after another hit and run in oakland. police are asking for help finding the car that fled the scene. >> it happened at seventh and weber streets. julie shows us how it unfolded. >> reporter: police tell us that the hit and run happened while the victim was walking on this classwork here at seventh and webster. this is not where the victim ended up. according to witnesses the pedestrian was also tracked several feet before he was left in the road. the person behind the wheel took off. police are looking for surveillance video now and have new information from witnesses on the scene. >> we are looking for an individual connected to this accident. we are looking for a newer model white pickup truck. >> reporter: the victim is a man in his 50s now in the hospital in critical condition. this follows a recent string of hit and run's in oakland. >> we have a hit and run in the 1800 block of 90th avenue and an additional one. >> reporter: a mother of seven was killed walking in a crosswalk. the suspect is still at large. >> let's address the consequences if somebody hits another person and gets out of the car and called 911. >> so you are involved in an accident with another vehicle or a pedestrian you are supposed to stop. you want to make sure everybody is safe and call 911. it is just an accident. once you leave the scene it
