M. , still a big splotch of green right over us. Into the afternoon the storm works into the sierra where theyll drop the snow and then for the most part leave us alone. But even into the afternoon wednesday we still have a small chance of an isolated shower. But most of the rain is coming through the first half of the day. And there are the totals just for the first half of wednesday. And this is a good run of the mill type rain maker meaning a half inch of rain. Thats not the kind of rain we were experiencing with the last storm where it was just like misting drizzle. This will be more measurable meaningful rainfall for the first half of wednesday. Ill let this play forward. Thursday and friday nothing happened. We didnt add more rain because we get a break. Just cloudy thursday and friday. But by saturday we start adding more rain totals for the next storm which is all the way on the other side of the pacific. To try and really pull out the details, its a little too soon to do that. A protest blocking the entrance for employees and stretching into the street with demonstrators locking up and blocking traffic. [ singing ] reporter at the heart of the demonstration, the Public Safety power shut offs that hit large swaths of Northern California this year leaving folks with disabilities in a potentially deadly lurch. We have a lot of people who rely on electricity to survive, literally. They sleep with oxygen machines or cpaps. Pg e tried to talk about this as an inconvenience and said well give you notice to make plans, but if youre disabled or older, and especially if youre poor, if you dont have a lot of resources, what do you do . Reporter beyond the power shut offs, these demonstrators want a seat at the table as the utility giant emerges from bankruptcy. When pg e is restructured, that he needs to put us up in front in that structure, in the governance, so we have a say in how Public Safety is determined when they do shut offs, that we are, um, consulted and that were part of decision making. Reporter in a statement, a pg e spokesperson said we understand and recognize the serious concerns raised by customers and wildfire victims, and we acknowledge that while we have made progress, we have more work to do. Protesters want the utility to know their decisions are being watched carefully. So theyre aware, and i hope theyre scared because you know, change is going to happen whether they like it or not. On friday governor gavin newsom rejected their bankruptcy plan saying it lacked major organizational restructuring and governance at the top.
