Alameda 83 of customers have their power back. 28 in marin. 9 in sonoma. 32 in napa. Several schools will be closed tomorrow because of the power shut off. The wins pg e are expecting are a problem for firefighters. They work to contain the kincaid fire in Sonoma County. Tonight there is a new evacuation warning for parts of lake county including twin pines casino. The fire has scorched about 74,000 acres. Containment has increased to 15 . The fire has destroyed 123 buildings so far. Including 57 homes. Another 90,000 structures are threatened. Authorities have made one arrest for looting. A new map from cal fire shows areas in red where the fire is burning at its highest intensity. Mandatory evacuations are shaded in purple. People living in the blue area on the western side of Sonoma County are now being allowed to return home. We have Team Coverage beginning with Katie Nilsson live in Sonoma County. What are the priorities . Reporter if you take a look behind me you can actually see exactly what the priority is. That is trying to cool down any remaining hotspots. The hottest spots of the fire inside the lines of the kincaid fire. The reason why firefighters know the wins are going to pick up tomorrow. If you take a look at what they are doing here the are using hand tools and hoses trying to cool down the hottest spots inside this fire ahead of those strong winds. They do not want the embers to get picked up loan around and then start new fires. The goal tonight and into tomorrow take advantage of the cool temperatures. The calm winds. Cut as much fireline as possible. And cool down the hottest spot inside this fire. Him crews will work through the night cutting fire lines. Hand crews. Other crews focus on cooling hotspots ahead of strong winds expected to return tomorrow. With the southwest winds we had today it gave them a little bit of a break with the fire behavior. If the winds begin to shift around that fire behavior did increase and has caused him problems. High fire intensity and fire behavior again as well as additional mediumrange spotting. But that doesnt ease the ins idea of what could happen when the winds pick up again tomorrow. Directly upwind from several communities. Im going to zoom in close on the kincaid fire. We are going to look at that. I will check back with the complete forecast. That is when we start to notice the wind picked up. The real intensity comes tomorrow night. That gets ahead to 9 pm tomorrow night. We are seeing gusts to near 40 Miles Per Hour in the communities. It is quite possible we will see the wins that strong down in these communities on the front lines of the fires. The real concern im going to stop this at 1 am. We will look at the peak wins in the mountains. 50 mile per hour. That energy will lower elevations and help to fan the flames. He has been to more than 30 wildfires in the kincaid fire being the latest. From night until day professor and students drove near the kincaid fire. To collect data that they hope will one day be used by firefighters and impact the community. We are using the models to predict where the fire is going to go. What communities have to be evacuated.
