Police in san jose are searching for the person who shot a gun multiple times in the downtown area last night. The bullets shattered several windows on the san jose state campus. Jackie ward is live near the scene in san jose this morning. Jackie, where does the investigation stand right now . Reporter the shooter is still out there. Police are doing everything they can to locate that person. Right now, there is yellow tape, as you can see behind me. We are in front of the Martin Luther king, jr. , library at san jose state. Witnesses tell us they heard five gun shots around 6 21 last night. At least two of those bullets hit windows here at the library, shattering them, destroying them really. Three other bullet holes of the parking garage half a block away. Also seven or eight stories high. No one was hurt or hit by one of the bullets. University Police Issued an alert shortly before 7 00 p. M. And told people to avoid the area. In the library when it happened. They are like, you cant go through the front, theres a shooting going on. They redirected us toward the back of the library. This is the incident involving a gun at san jose state in as many days. Campus Police Arrested a 17 yearold here on campus after they said he made threats on social media. They found him armed with this loaded semiautomatic handgun, ammunition, and a knife. This as Tropical Storm imelda turned deadly. This morning, many people are struggling to clean up after this storm dumped devastating rains in the area. Imelda continues to unload dangerous flash floods. Two people are dead and dozens of communities have already evacuated. At least 40 inches of rain fell, making some roads and freeways impassable. Some people are now forced to abandon their homes and cars and officials in Harris County say there have been more than 1700 high rescues. For some, imelda is bringing back the horror when Hurricane Harvey struck two years ago. The thought of losing everything in my house and restarting everything again.
