Either you let me speak or you leave. Reporter in a statement today, the mayor said we know the data shows there is no link between the creation of a Navigation Center and an increase in crime in the surrounding area, allowing people to suffer on the street without providing resources will only make the challenges we face more severe. The Navigation Center isnt there yet so saying that the Navigation Center caused this attack is magical thinking and i think thats me putting it nicely. Reporter this woman helped cofound San Franciscos the she says blocking the Navigation Center wont help solve this problem. I hate this, everybody hates it but the path is not to shut down social service. The path is to have more social services. I think Navigation Centers are an important part of the solution to homelessness. But a residential area is not the right place to put it. They are putting us at risk. Until they can figure out what a solid plan is, they need to stop this. Reporter as we purported last week, the woman was critical of the judge who released her assailant so quickly but the judge said she only did so because she had not seen the video. Jackie wards give us a tour starting at 4 30. How are you going to address the little tykes as they head back tomorrow . Tomorrow morning its going to be gray and cool as they get ready first goal, the marine layer comes back in a big way. It was only 85 in concorde. It was a big improvement, it happened fast and we are keeping it for the next few days and then we are going to warm right back up again as we get into the middle and late part of the week. That is how we did it, that is a live look at the Golden Gate Bridge and you can see all those low, gray clouds that have started streaming in and have really help things out, not only for the people driving on the bridge, but for the entire bay area today. It doesnt look this way everywhere. If you look across at the other bridge, its sunny over much of the bay until you get to the hills and then we got a nice layer of clouds developed out there. San jose we are still looking at clear skies. If we go to the camera that sits on top of the Sales Force Tower and take a look west, you can see there is a good crop of clouds, the marine layer, all starting to surge on the shore. Numbers right now, a little bit off the highs, we pretty much stayed in the low to mid 70s for much of the bay today and we only got into the low to mid 80s for most inland locations, it 64 in San Francisco right now and you could see whats going on in the coastline. Plenty of clouds surging in trying to get over the peninsula. If we come in for a close up look we can see what the Golden Gate Bridge had its clouds. In the north bay, i want to focus on the clouds that are coming inland here, because if we switch from the live satellite and put this into the future cast we are going to see you all this stream into the petaluma gap overnight and that means by the time we wake up tomorrow morning, this is what we are talking about, just a moment ago and i said plan on the kids stepping out the door under low marine layer type clouds and in fact we might even get some light drizzle out of this down along the peninsula. The clouds dont last long here in the north bay. They will for the morning commute tomorrow but by the time we get to 11 am we are back into the sunshine so it could be tshirt and short weather by the time we get into the afternoon, as far as the rest of the bay area goes, same story, the clouds move in about a week at 7 am we are looking at gray skies. Look here down toward Half Moon Bay and its not like its going to drizzle exactly on Half Moon Bay at exactly 7 am, but that tells us the marine layer is so deep tomorrow that we will be able to wring a few light showers out of it. It is all gone by the time we get to the late morning and early afternoon, but in those morning hours, if we look at the possibility for light rain, zero,. 01,. 02 showing we can maybe 100 or 207 inch of rain. The rain is not the story, its the fact that weve got a really good looking marine layer for at least another day meaning the daytime highs are staying down tomorrow, only 83 inland just like today so another wonderful day as far as the temperatures go but then we are going to start the warmup and by the time we get into wednesday and thursday we are right back up into the mid90s again with tempngut eeabove average, it will feel hot but it wont feel as hot as last wednesday and thursday did. Those numbers were about 10 degrees higher. We were about 105, so std. We will have more on this coming up in the next half hour. Incredible video out of alaska were a couple of kayakers were in the right place at the right time to capture this image, you will see that when we come back. If youve been enjoying the weather this weekend you are going to get another day just like it, tomorrow is identical but then there are much more noticeable changes, the heat is coming back in this forecast. I will outline that coming up. Electricity is back on for some 40,000 people tonight after demolition work at a british powerplant knocked out a lot more than planned. The towers that came down today were an unused part of a working powerplant but the force of the implosion cause the active power lines to sway, shortly after witnesses saw a giant flash of light and that was followed by fireprably some the demolition crew. A kayaking trip turned into a onceinalifetime adventure for a couple of buddies in alaska as a glacier collapsed right in front of them. That will get your attention. Front and center, that breathtaking video capture the moments the chunks of ice began falling off the bridge of the Spencer Glacier and then the whole thing came down sending a huge wave exploding toward the two paddlers. They came away unhurt and with some great video. I know some people wanted to jump in some cool water the past few days. Yes and that looks like the complete opposite of what we were living with. But we are now getting back down to temperatures that are where they should be. Let me show you what it looks like out there first, then i will show you what we did for daytime highs today and thats going to be important because we are going to do the same exact numbers again tomorrow, first, that is a look east from the top of the Sales Force Tower over the bay bridge, a few clouds hugging east bay hills, but a slightly different story when you look at the golden great Golden Gate Bridge. San jose with clear skies overhead, it was 79 degrees for the daytime high in san jose today, up top in santa rosa we went to 80 degrees, these numbers are so different from what we were going through. If you take a look at the rest of the spread we will pull out some more numbers from 82 in walnut creek to 76 in oakland to 60 eight in pacifica, a Straight Line but you can really see how access to the bay has a huge control on how you are going to feel, 82 for fremont today, 86 in pleasanton. Its pull out a couple more numbers and go deeply into the details. Remember what your number was . Thats good because youre going to do that same exact number tomorrow. Tomorrow will be just as nice, then the warmup is going to begin, you will see it in 7day forecast by wednesday and thursday with temperatures climbing a bit, but i want to go a little past that and we are going to look at the long range forecast, the 8 to 14 day forecast, in other words where the 70 am going to show you and, this forecast picks up and this map is a probably with the map. It shows you the degree of confidence temperatures will be above or below average and the deeper the shades of red, the higher the confidence temperatures are going to be above average for that period. This last several days of august, so once we get to the 7 day forecast and going toward early next week, it looks like we are in for another warmup. Weve got a warmup before that one evening, we have one coming for the middle of this week and i want to give you the comparison on how this will change. Remember how i said today and tomorrow are pretty much identical . Concorde is my first example, the average would be 87 we will get there tuesday and we are going to climb 10 degrees above average by the time you get to thursday. Lets do this again, for santa rosa, notice how the average dropped and 83 is average here but were going to be 95, by the time wednesday rolls around lets bring the number and hold it steady for san jose because san jose, your average is also 83 degrees. Is going to be 90 degrees by thursday and that we will bring the number down for oakland, 73 would be the average and now you see how this is kind of a different story, because even though we are going to be seven degrees above average, maybe eight degrees above average, that only means of 81 degrees, it will be warm but its not going to be upper 90s warm like concorde and the other inland locations and for San Francisco, 68 is the average, we are going to 74 for the daytime high, that will be our one number. Heres the 7day forecast, lets get you past thursday gnu c week a little bit of relief going into friday but then those numbers are going to climb as we go toward sunday. Remember the longrange forecast i showed you, it is a little early but theres a lot of confidence that we could be looking at more heat by next week. More on that as we get closer to it, a goodlooking monday coming our way. Back to you. The summer of love reached its peak 50 years ago this weekend at woodstock.
