shooting but gutierrez is considered armed and dangerous. if you know where he might be tonight please call menlo park police. tonight the mayor is standing bar -- by statements about sweeping immigration raids. so far there have been no arrest though. >> reporter: we have been able to confirm that a handful of people have been arrested today by i.c.e. agents across the area. one of those was in napa. ak pxi crew member spoke with the mother of a man a little bit ago. he works in construction. he is in his mid-30s but came to the u.s. when he was seven years old. the mayor sent out a warning yesterday about the impending rates. when pressed today about how she got the information, the only thing she would say, is multiple credible sources and that none of the information came through official channels.>> due to the reliability of my sources and that i received this from multiple sources, i felt it was my duty to share the information.>> reporter: the mayor said she put this out to protect those that live in the city. she has not heard of any widespread i.c.e. activity in the bay area today. but the north bay organizing project confirms that one person in napa was detained by immigration agents. the arrest has not been confirmed with trying to. but we did find this snapshot photo with what looks like i.c.e. activity earlier today. >> it is not my wish to panic people but to make sure they are prepared.>> reporter: the mayor of the sanctuary city said she got legal advice before releasing information late last night about the possibility of a grade. >> i feel confident that by sharing this information, because i did not receive it through official channels, is legal and it is my ethical obligation. >> reporter: but a city councilmember questions the motives of the mayor and said she could be taking a page out of president donald trump's book. >> it is like donald trump. anytime he wants to draw attention he talks about immigration and the wall. he talks about things that grab attention.>> reporter: why do you think she is trying to grab attention? >> while she is running for reelection.>> reporter: talks of i.c.e. raids are nothing new especially after i.c.e. agents arrested 200 people in las vegas and they rated a number of convenient stores in the north bay recently. he questions the sources that the mayor referred to. >> i get these weekly. i.c.e. is coming down the street. but they are not there. >> reporter: another immigrant right group caught siren, has been able to confirm a number of detentions across the bay area through the rapid response network. they say i.c.e. has arrested people with detention orders in napa and at waller as well as several other communities. one thing we kept hearing over and over again from the mayor was the need to be prepared and for people to know their rights if they do interact with an i.c.e. agent. according to the information she got, these rates could happen over the next few days. live in oakland i am katie nielsen for kpix5 . this was the scene at the i.c.e. office a few minutes ago. the offices are closed and there is nothing going on inside or out back. other bay area mayors were quick to respond to mayor shop. she said regardless of this the message remains the same. my message is that we do not participate in i.c.e. operations. police -- "please take a moment to learn about your rights during a raid. we must remain vigilant in the face of a trump administration set on separating families and sowing fear." recently there was a threat to call i.c.e. agents out of california but that would create what some call a crime last. the bay area is going to get wet for the first time in a long while. and there is a bigger sister coming. futurecast shows showers heading south overnight. that will mess up the morning commute but is only a 10th or so of rain. at the moment, officer of the bay area, that is where they will see next to nothing. futurecast shows those showers power north. -- power south. there is more on the way. we will have the details when we cover the forecast in a few minutes. this could have been bad. a large tree branch snapped off and dangled 50 feet in the air over high-voltage power lines in berkeley today. they shut down shasta road while they tried to get this cleared. they say the power did arc a few times but no fires were started. identical twin teachers are under arrest on child pornography charges. one is a track coach at oak grove high school. he was arrested last week on child pornography charges. his brother was arrested a week before. the two investigations are separate. the first arrest did not lead to the other. infrared images shows sparks flying from the back of a car that sped down 680 in concorde last night. the suspects ended up ditching the car and then taking off on foot. but the chopper was keeping an eye on them the entire time. as sheriff deputies moved in they arrested all three. but there was no word on why they were running to begin with. local veterans had a chance to low off some steam in the bay today. it is all part of a program aimed at helping them transition to civilian was like being at the supermarket. our luck phone was apparently not good enough for these guys. >> it's too old. >> on another visit with what we said was a locked iphone eight. what are they doing with this? the request to get around the kill switch is the holy grail for hackers. websites claim that they can unlock the iphone lock. after setting up our phone with a fake icloud account we reported it stolen then paid $56 to a company that had great reviews and had a 100% moneyback guarantee. three days later we received an email that said this could not be locked/unlocked because it was stolen. computer forensics investigators try the unlocking service as well. his iphone is still locked and he is still waiting to get his money back. >> i have talked to multiple sources at repair facilities. i have asked them if they have had the option to do the lock and they have indicated they have no way of doing so.>> one thing is for sure. there is a market for locked phones. buyers are looking for them on craigslist. >> there were at least 300 ads that i saw that were advertising for locked iphones. >> there are some people selling partial solutions. but there is nothing out there showers will develop and spread overnight. tuesday will be sunny but highs will be on the chilly side and in the mid 50s. more rain is coming in later this week. it promises three days of wet weather. not a huge amount of moisture but much more than we have seen. concorde has 58 degrees right now. the #252 in santa rosa and san francisco. here is where that is coming from. there is a cold front edging into montecito county right now. by tomorrow afternoon it will clear out. tuesday looks sunny and then there is more rain coming in wednesday through friday. winter weather advisory in the lake tahoe area. 6-12 inches is due. futurecast is in the slower timeframe. that paces it out in the higher resolution. we will pick up the clouds and this cold front will drape over sonoma county. and then it all heads south out of the bay area. not much in terms of amounts. we will be at a quarter of an inch at the most. so showers tonight, showers monday and more rain coming in later in the week. overnight lows tonight will be in the mid 30s and mid 40s. everybody tomorrow will be within 3 degrees of 55 degrees. over in the east bay same thing. there will be some early morning showers. but then things will clear up. in the extended forecast, tuesday we will be sunny. increasing clouds lead to rain on wednesday night, thursday and friday just in time for the weekend. that is the weather. one bay area lawmakers said that governments could be willing to shut down the government over gun control. here is what we learned this morning. >> i could see us doing that but it would be the same thing we asked for for dreamers. we did not say that we wanted our bill to be passed. we demanded was a vote. that is what we asked for. i could see the same thing on this. we have had 300 bills introduced in the years that i have been in congress aim.gun violence reduction. none of them has been to hearing. >> yesterday hundreds of people packed a townhall meeting in lafayette. gun violence was addressed there. students were allowed to return to marjory stoneman douglas high school today. and a local sheriff is defending the response of deputies to the shooting. >> reporter: it was an emotional afternoon for students to attend the school in parkland, florida. less than two weeks ago a student opened fire killing 17 students and teachers. >> the orientation comes as 74 republican members of the florida house called on governor rick scott to suspect scott israel. the florida department of justice said three deputies did not enter the building when they should have. >> at this point we have no reason to believe that anyone acted correctly or incorrectly. >> a fourth deputy, the armed security guard, has already resigned after investigators found that he took up a position outside the school but never went in. the valentines day shooting has sparked debate over school security and gun laws. >> the gun -- ground is shifting. >> reporter: president donald trump has suggested arming teachers. a spokesperson for the national rifle association weighed in on that possibility. >> if parents and teachers volunteer to be armed that is something that schools will need to determine for themselves. >> reporter: on monday congress will return after a brief recess. they are facing immense pressure to pass gun control laws. classes at the high school are set to resume on wednesday, two weeks after the shooting. a massive explosion rocked the uk this morning sending six people to the hospital. videos posted on social media show a fire raging in the smoldering aftermath. there were people trapped inside this burning building. this is two hours northwest of london. we are not clear why it happened. local police say there is no indication that it was terror related. tonight north korea is hinting at might be willing to hold the medic talks with the united states. ivanka trump is representing the united states at tonight's closing ceremonies. she sat in the same box as a senior member of the north korean government. as well as moon jae-in. mexican -- the mexican president has called off a visit to the white house after a tense conversation with president donald trump. he and president donald trump talk by phone last week. the washington post reports that the mexican president called off the trip during that call. that is after president donald trump refused to publicly affirm their position on the border wall, specifically that mexico will not pay for it. there was no comment on this from president donald trump. the white house was tweeting about immigration today. they say merit-based reform will benefit american workers and relieve the strain imposed by the current system on federal resources. a deadly storm is hammering parts of the midwest and southwest -- with fierce winds. the situation night get worse before it gets better.>> reporter: a tornado touched down on a kentucky border. according to the national weather service parts of kentucky and tennessee were under a tornado warning until early sunday morning. most ofdama happened late saturday. >> i looked outside and i could see the trees start to bow and do this. and right about that time i all of the sudden felt the pressure on the window. and i knew we needed to go. >> reporter: several people in kentucky were killed because of that storm. the governor tweeted his condolences and warned residents to take the weather watches and warnings seriously. parts of the state also dealt with this. massive flooding. emergency officials say after the damaging wind threat and heavy showers, flash flooding will continue this week. and in some areas of tennessee -- >> it started to rain real hard and then we saw the metal from this barn come off and the windows busted out. >> reporter: the storm ripped her home after home. in the buckeye state, heavy rain led to widespread flooding. >> we never can take mother nature for granted. the good news is there is infrastructure damage but there was no loss of life. >> reporter: even parts of arkansas witness the devastation. at least one storm related death has been confirmed there. i am kim patterson for kpix5. it is a high-tech training exercise in california. how these wargames are teaching aircraft to talk to one another. >> the owners and the intimidation. out right stopping people on public roadways. >> reporter: supervisor dennis mills voted for the ban. cited everything from growers having dangerous chemicals on their property, this is dogs and weapons and more. >> what we did not think through is we were giving people permits to grow in moral residential areas but we were not allowing the neighbors to have a say so there is the conflict right there. >> reporter: there is so much bigotry and hatred that comes from a group of people that lump us in with criminals. we are part of the community. >> reporter: maddox says the growers have offered to help eradicate illegal growers. >> i know that the growers are really upset because they are obeying all the rules and they jumped through the hoops and now they are saying get out of town. >> reporter: but the growers are not leaving without a fight. the recall effort is already under way against the supervisors who instituted the band. and what about the millions of dollars collected from the growers?
