[ speaking Foreign Language ] Holy Trinity Music School in the heart of portauprince has trained young people in vocal and instrumental music since the 1950s. Its students often advance to haitis national orchestra. I was completely blown away. This San Francisco director was introduced to them on a visit to haiti. He started shooting his documentary serenade for haiti in 2007. Music unites us. And music brings us together. And music has the power to really provide a kind of inner meaning. Shooting in 2009 then a magnitude 6. 7 earthquake hit a year later they felt they had to go back. Still the school went on their classroom outdoors building harmony as harmonies of rebuilding echoed nearby. Resilience reverberating in the rubble. What can we do . We can do what we always do we can continue to make music. I think it showcased the strenths strength of the strength of the haitian spirit and the holy trinity. Music of refuge and strength for their community. Brown and his team had more than 250 hours of raw footage. In 2014 they produced an hour long documentary that premiered a year ago in new york. Serenade for haiti continues to open across the country. In San Francisco Engineers Without Borders screened the film and traveled to haiti to rebuild a bridge. I think this is a very hopeful movie in a lot of ways. A hope that resonates long after the credits rule. Brown plans to premier the documentary in haiti in january.
