will likely spend the rest of his life behind bars. larry nasser pleaded guilty to abusing seven girls who came to his office for medical treatment. jericka duncan reports. >> reporter: for nearly 20 years, larry nasser team physician for usa gymnastics admitted in court to penetrating the vaginas of seven minors, six of whom were gymnasts he worked with. the judge -- >> you violated the oath that you took which its to do no harm. and you harmed them. alexis alverado says nassar sexually abused her. >> i know he will never do it again. >> the victims were 15 or younger when the abuse started. >> i have been known as jane doe e., i no longer want to wear this mask. >> i was sexually assaulted by larry nassar, after my 13th birthday. >> after accepting the plea, the judge allowed nassar off abuser and take every opportunity to shift the attention back to him self to try to look less evil. >> rachel denhollander is known as a trail blazer in this criminal case. because she was first to file a police report about nassar in 2016. nassar began abusing her in 2000 when she was 15. she says she was motivated to come forward after reading an "indianapolis star" investigation on lax policies by usa gymnastics for reporting sex abuse allegations. >> larry has been taken care of hopefully forever. usg and usu hasn't. until the dynamics change we will see the same story with different actors every time. in a statement, michigan state university officials say they were grateful for how their police department handled the case. usa gymnastics said it was sorry that any athlete was harmed by nassar. sentencing scheduled in january. he faces 25 years to life in prison. the search continues in the waters off the philippines where they u.s. navy transport plane crashed into the sea. eight crew members have been pulled from the water, but three others are still missing. david martin reports. >> according to initial reports. the plane suffered a rare twin engine failure 575 miles south of okinawa. near the end of routine run out to the carrier ronald reagan. the fact that eight aboard survived, suggests the pilot was able to make a controlled landing in the water. the plane was near the end of its flight to the carrier, so helicopters were on the scene a half-hour after it went down. the search for the three missing continued into the night. the plane is called a c-2 greyhound. but is widely known as a cod, which stand for carrier on board delivery. for more than 50 years the navy used it to deliver people and parts, to aircraft carriers at sea. last week, ben tracy of cbs news, was a passenger on a similar flight out to the reagan, and all passengers were reared to wear life vests. the reagan recently completed rare three carrier operations intended as show of force towards north korea, and was midway through an exercise with the japanese navy when the accident occurred. the cod has a good safety record. last mishap, five years ago there wells food service company that cooks and serves the food and keeps track of the maze of federal programs that pay for it all. >> not leaving any money on the table. >> no. we look for everything. give our students the best. >> they're not alone. according to the department of agriculture, over 20,000 schools have expanded free food offerings including stom of the biggest districts. new york city, chicago and detroit. the health benefits are obvious. but, there is a psychological one too. free food for each student means the poor and the hungry aren't singled out as some have been in the past. which, brings us to something called lunch shaming. kids who can't afford to buy their lunch and fall behind on payments, are fed a cheese sandwich instead of a hot meal like the rest of the kids. headlines have been full of incidents of late. kids unable to pay their meem debt of some times denied food or had their hot meals thrown away in front of them. replaced with a cold lunch in a paper sack. >> imagine the embarrassment. get to the lunch line. are your lunch take any way because you didn't have $3. >> school nutrition association says 3/4 of the nation school districts are owed money by families who haven't paid for meals. in response, some parents have started gofundme pages including father in seattle trying to raise over half a million dollars to pay off lunch debts that parents owe all across washington state. >> so this was it, huh?
