Jackie ward explains, the bill has some key differences. Reporter michelle, its being touted as a bill to offer billions of dollars in tax cuts but one that was most likely to raise federal taxes for californians. The Senate Version creates 7 tax brackets instead of 4, fully eliminates the deduction for state and local taxes, remains high medical expenses and momentum mortgage and delays reduction of the Corporate Tax rate until 2019. If theres a focus on our tax reforms package, its to make sure that middle america, hardworking income earners have a chance to see more money materialize in their paychecks. Reporter Senate Republicans need nearly every party member to vote for this bill because democrats do not support it. On the other side of the capital, House Republicans made lastminute changes to their bill before sending it to the floor. Tax policy center a nonpartisan think tank in washington estimates by the end of the decade, more than a quarter of individual taxpayers roughly 38 Million People would see their taxes go up. In california, more than a third of us use the deduction that the bill will eliminate. On average they get an 18,000 deduction from their federal taxes. If the full house and Senate Passed the bills, a Conference Committee would need to resolve the differences between the two versions. In the newsroom, jackie ward, kpix 5. State regulators have approved an emergency resolution to help those affected by the wine country wildfires. It bans companies from cutting off service for nonpayment until november 2018. The measure also requires companies to work with their customers on payment plans. Pg e says that it has already temporarily suspended bills for fireimpacted customers. A key deadline has been pushed back for napa county residents affected by the fires. People who lost their homes now have until monday to file their right of entry forms. The original deadline was yesterday. It allows the government on burnedout properties to start cleaning up. The wine country wildfires may prompt changes to the Emergency Alert system in oakland which has its own history of wildfires. Kpix 5s Jessica Flores joins us live from oakland to explain. Reporter the Oakland Hills fire ripped through this area 26 years ago this month the same month that the north bay fires ripped through wine country. This is a wakeup call for people to be prepared. The Oakland Fire Department has a new way you can do that, by signing up for their new alert system where they can reach out to people within seconds of an emergency. Now, its called the ac alert system. The city has been piloting the program for months. It basically works like a reverse 911 call. The citys Fire Department send out emergency notices to people affected by a fire in a specific area. The city can send messages about evacuation orders, shelter in place orders, about severe weather, even about a red flag warning. To have some kind of an alert, whether it is approximate to a block away or a mile away, id like to know. Reporter if cell phones and land lines are knocked out, the city can blast out the alert as a last resort with sirens. They hope as many people go to acalert. Cbs news has confirmed the Washington Post report that four women accused roy moore of pursuing them when they were teens and he was in his 30s. One of them says that when she was 14 years old, moore asked for her phone number, picked her up in his car and then kissed her. Then on a second visit he allegedly took off her shirt and pants and removed his clothes then touched her and guided her to touch him over his underwear.
