The California Public Utilities Commission wants uber to provide some figures on the number of rides refused and how many vehicles are equipped to take the disabled. Uber wont give them those figures. So the commission has fined the company more than 7 million and says if it doesnt play ball, it will suspend its license to operate in california. The west side irrigation district in tracy holds junior water rights which are subject to curtailment under californias emergency drought rules. The state cut them off back in may. But they say the district is still diverting water from the old river in San Joaquin County more than two weeks later. The division of water rights that the state Water Resources control board has been going out and doing field surveys and visiting those have been given that water is no longer available based on their junior priority right and in this instance it was determined that although they had been noticed that water was not available to them, it appeared they continued to take water out of the old river. The district has 20 days to appeal or comply with the order. If it does not, it could face fines of up to 10,000 a day. California struggles with drought conditions. Las vegas has water to spare. For every gallon of Drinking Water removed, another gallon is returned to the lake. All of the water that we use indoors gets reclaimed treated to near Drinking Water standards and then we send that watered back out to lake mead water back out to lake mead. Reporter the city cracked down on water wasters. An investigator says he used to issue as many as 35 tickets a day but not anymore. Right now, probably anywhere from one to five.
