Crews are racing to get the work done by monday morning. Right now, they are pouring concrete and paving the roadway. The concrete is a quick set variety and if all goes as planned it will be cured by tomorrow morning. Workers also need to install medians and striping along the new parkway before they can open it up to traffic. It will happen in different stages. But that will be sunday before we really see any striping. We may even wait until its already done. Work is still on schedule even after rain. A big crowd made it to the presidio for a special ceremony today despite the doyle drive closure. Mayor lee and other dignitaries broke ground on the new korean war memorial. It will be built at lincoln and sheridan. The project has been years in the making and the presidio has a strong connection to it. More than 2,000 americans who fought and died in the korean war are buried in the presidio cemetery. Getting to the presidio and the Golden Gate Bridge has not been easy the last couple of days as we know. And drivers have been getting pretty creative trying to find ways around the closure. Lombard street is no longer an option. Its now closed off at divisadero through monday morning and so is marina boulevard. Reporter its still very busy. So try to avoid the closure. Surprisingly though northbound Park Presidio is one of the bright spots. So thats about 20 more minutes we saw than just about 45 minutes ago. Very slow and go conditions there. Once you get through it, its busy 19th to geary. Park presidio boulevard south, highway 1 one, 19th avenue, geary boulevard are busy. Use the Richmond San Rafael bridge. Quiet both directions. Not seeing a lot of delays. Just heads up though you will see a bit of traffic though coming out of richmond headed westbound towards the bay bridge. The bay bridge is backed up into the maze at this time. A lot of people trying to get there before the giants first pitch at at t so extra busy there and extra volume for everyone avoiding the delays at the Golden Gate Bridge. So 30 minutes carquinez bridge to the maze. You want to give yourself extra time. If you want to avoid the bay bridge altogether, san mateo bridge looks good. You can see always use bart out of the east bay into San Francisco. Avoiding those conditions along the Golden Gate Bridge is the major snag this afternoon. Thank you. In other news now, an animal escape at the San Francisco zoo. A small but venomous snake is missing tonight from the San Francisco zoo and no one knows where it is.
