25,000 structures are in danger and 90,000 people have been forced out of their homes and today, the governor toured homes destroyed in the fire. >> we will about ready to have firefightering at christmas. this is odd and unusual. but it is the way the world is with the kind of carbon pollution that we are not only living with but generating. >> this is usually wet season in southern california, but it's unseason ably dry and the winds are picking back up. we will hear more about the weather conditions down there and how they are hampering or helping the firefightering efforts. >> yeah, eric, there's a fire warning. this is in effect until sunday night. 8:00 tonight and tomorrow night, the people affected, over 7.8 million. extreme fire danger. we have strong winds, combined with low humidity. here is a forecast for the winds tonight. 25-35 plus miles an hour and overnight, it hits closer to 40 miles an hour and the winds stay with us all throughout the day tomorrow, this is a visible satellite image taken this afternoon. you can see how the smoke circulates clockwise around the area of high pressure. this is impacting the air quality in the bay area. and we do have another spare the air alert in affect for tomorrow. i will have the details coming up. >> sounds good. tr thank you. well, we are seeing horse owners saving their horses, hundreds were saved and 30 to 40 died. the horsing community is rallying to support one another. we have the story. >> reporter: eapalm trees on fi at the san luis ray downs training center as workers try to rescue hundreds of horses in distress. >> there you go. easy. >> reporter: for some, the images too much to bear. >> i was not wanting to watch it. it was too sad, too hard. we have been horse people all of our lives my heart goes out and i'm just so sad and happy to give, and do what i can. >> reporter: the devastation prompted the santana. nita park community to fill up vans with donations headed the to the area. and this hits close to home. . it's been absolutely heartbreaking and it's been hard to watch, what is so comforting is to see the way the horse liaisons and the horseman community has come together to help. >> jill atkinson's friend was injured trying save their horses. >> they had six horses and three of them died. she was air lifted, after trying to save her horses. >> reporter: a go fund me account has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to help victims recover. >> the loss of lives of the horses and also, what i don't think people understand is that the grooms that live at the barns, lost their homes. >> we watch a steady stream of people wanting to help. dropping off bags on of clothes and water, there to let victims know they are not alone. >> they help me every day to take care of the horses that i ride and that i win with, and you know, i think it's, like i said, it's affecting all of us. >> whatever everyone is going through, just know, there's people who care and love you and we are -- we engulf you with love. >> abc 7 news. hillsboro police say they made an arrest in a cold case kidnapping that dates back more than 20 years. three people abducted this girl while she walked home from school. last night, police captured kevin linn in southern california. he was part of a plot to hold the girl for ransom. they baund their plans when they learned that her parents were in taiwan. she was found safely inside a hotel at sfo. >> an elderly woman is dead after being hit by a vehicle in san francisco. late this afternoon, she was crossing 19th avenue in the sunset district when the vehicle struck their. police say the driver is cooperating. we are learning new details about a terrifying bus crash in san francisco last night. it sent 29 passengers to the hospital and one of them is talking to abc 7 news about the frightening moments when the flipped over on highway 101, we are at the san francisco general hospital with more. >> these moment hads you never understand what is happening. >> he was just released from the hospital with a bad head wound he suffered when the bus he was on crashed. >> we were on the road and then we are on one side. but, then, i -- i forget everything. >> reporter: he said that the bus was taking a group from san francisco to palo alto for a holiday party. but a hospital curve, and the bus started to fishtale and hit the center divider and bounced across four lines. the bus flipped over?
