Generally when we talk about record highs, we are talking about records for this date. But we have something beyond that. These are alltime record highs. Highest temperatures ever recorded. In San Francisco today, 106 degrees. At sfo, 104 degrees. At moffitt field, 106. On we go to other records for the entire month of september. San jose, 108 degrees, highest september reading ever. Oakland airport, 101. Santa rosa, 110 degrees. And now records for this date, 109 at san rafel. 105 at gilroy. Livermore, 109 degrees. Many locations are still in the triple digits. Lets take a look at our excessive heat warning in effect from now through tomorrow for the entire bay area, including the host. Hottest spots near 115 degrees. Then on sunday and monday, we have an excessive heat warning for all of the bay area except the coastline. And we have a red flag warning for high fire danger, including the high locations and inland valleys. Ill give you a look at the forecast in just a few minutes. Thank you, spencer. Todays heat might even feel hotter for crews battling flames in san jose. Sky 7 flew over a burning ho ii building. The roof collapsed after the fire broke out this afternoon. Firefighters called for extra assistance after arriving on scene. So far, no word of any injuries. The extreme heat is expected to push electricity demands to an alltime high in california. Pg e has almost 5200 customers without power at the moment. Managers of the states power grid issued a flex alert. Cal iso officials are asking us to cut back on electricity use until 10 00 p. M. Today. To no ones surprise, soerg temperatures are creating concerns across the bay area. David louie is live in san jose with that. David . In the case of light rail, they were looking for potentially sagging power lines. Its a day to adapt to the crushing heat, even if you have to cook chicken over a hot grill for a living. Reporter Court Records show Thomas Littlecloud was incited in San Francisco for profession of meth, Identity Theft and being a felon in possession of a gun. But the judge granted bail at 100,000, and his mother put up her house as collateral. Prosecutors have already filed documents to seize the house because littlecloud failed to make the required court hearings. Hes accused of shooting the Police Officers in sacramento, while they were investigating a stolen car ring and he was on the run from the feds. You can bet that the judge who released him is just second guessing herself and wishing that she had made a different decision. Reporter little cloud had prior convictions dating back to 2004. But its a tragedy. Somebody with that record, i would hesitate before i let him out. Reporter but little says the prosecution has a say and could appeal the decision. Littleclouds girlfriend is charged with vehicle theft and felony evasion in connection with the incident. Littlecloud was wounded in the gunfire and hospitalized in critical condition. Overnight lows ring from mid to upper 60s to low 70s, to mid and upper 70s inland. This is usually the High Temperature range. These are lows tonight. Tomorrows highs will be in a similar range to todays highs, except for maybe San Francisco, which was 106. Tomorrow a mere 96. Look at the other temperature readings, projected highs around the bay tomorrow. 100 to 102 degrees. Inland, 112, 113, 114. You ukiah, a high of 113 tomorrow. Very little change in our inland areas. So what do we do in excessively hot conditions to protect our severals . Limit outdoor activity, and remember not to leave children or pets inside cars. Weve seen some of the hottest temperatures in downtown livermore, where its been around 108 degrees most of the afternoon. And the heat has forced the cancellation of the pop hear Livermore Valley harvest wine celebration for the first time in 36 years. Chris nguyen shows us most of the areas wineries are still open for business. Reporter at this winery in livermore, the hot weather played a role in the allimportant hvest harvest. We neimmediately put it in a conditioning to keep the fruit coal after harvest. This time of the year with this kind of heat, well pick at night, because we dont want anybody to get a heat stroke or have problems and we dont want the fruit hot. Reporter many keeping an eye on the excessive heat. For the first time in 36 years, the harvest wine celebration, scheduled for this weekend, has been canceled, citing safety concerns. Diablo is under a Red Flag Alert for the weekend. The grass is tender dry and the flyer danger is high. No campfires are allowed, but using propane is okay. Under hazy skies from fires in northern california, as well as the sierra. That includes the ponderosa fire, which Governor Brown declared a state of emergency for. Its now 30 contained after charring nearly six square miles so far. Its destroyed 20 homes and threatens hundreds more. An oroville man is under arrest for starting a wildfire. Investigators say he started an illegal campfire that got out of control. Fire crews continued to battle a brush fire in los angeles today. About 80 homes have been evacuated. Officials say theyre expecting erratic winds this evening and concerned about a thunderstorm thats moving into the area. A fire has burned about 3,000 acres year yosemite and wont be contained for another week. The Railroad Fire could burn down a hundred buildings. Our sister station in fresno shows us how the firefight is going. Reporter firefighters are working around the clock as the Railroad Fire burns trees, structures, and even rail cars. The blaze is bushing about 3,000 acres near Yosemite National park, while steep terrain and hot weather is still posing a problem for crews. Fire Officials Say one of the bigger challenges is getting more help. A lot of fire is burning in the state and across the nation. So were competing for resources, additional engines and crews and helicopters and all of that. Reporter several air tankers and helicopters are working fast to drop water as the fire grows larger. Daniel says the fire seems to be burning away from structures, but moving closer to the sequoia trees. This fire is too intense for that grove, so we need to protect those trees. Weve seen a lot of positive moments coming out of texas amid the damage done by harvey. Wednesday, we watched the rescue of a 92yearold woman named shirley. Shes now staying with family. Alex michaelson from los angeles is still in houston. Earlier today, he met up with shirley again to see how shes doing. I am so happy to be here with you. And im happy to see you again under these happy circumstances. What am i supposed to say now . And one of the things is, what was that experience like of the rescue . Walk us through that . The rescue was unbelievably terrible. It was terrible. It was frightening, terrible. I kept thinking im going to slip off into the water, or slip off the back of the truck. I just couldnt believe all the wonderful guys that were, you know, these big muscled, goodlooking people that were hanging on to me, and not letting me slip. Either from forward or backwards. And just really a terrifying experience, because there were boats, not cars, but boats going up and down my street. It was just awful. It was uncomfortable, scary. And just so wonderful to have the reassurance of these magnificent men that were hanging onto me and keeping me from falling and just wonderful. I dont know what else to say.
