We have seen some notable figures, former mayor willie ground is here, the district attorney, the chief of police among those also serving on the board of supervisors. He did just hear that announcement that said we will be starting shortly here. The mayor is expected to make a case of her policies. In order to sustain progress, San Francisco must embrace change. I want to take a look at key topics that e mayor is expected to talk about, among those safety and justice. This includes deploying new technology under proposition e, which we sought support from from San Francisco voters. There is also expected to be a commitment to reaching the full Police Staffing in San Francisco. The mayor will talk about treatment and accountability including implementing requirements that were outlined under proposition f also seen to be getting support from San Francisco voters. She will talk about reimagining downtown. We are expecting a new commitment to seeing what that Downtown Neighborhood could possibly look like by 2030. She is also going to address homelessness, including creating more shelter options this year for what has been seen to be an issue that has plagued San Francisco, not just in recent years, but in decades before. We are going to expect to hear the mayors vision to see how she can better address that issue. She will also highlight what she has seen as progress during her time as mayor. This includes a declining crime in 2023. Property crime was down 30 , Violent Crime was down as well down to 17 . Her opponents in this race for mayor have criticized her handling of Public Safety and homelessness. Developed now, Snohomish County district plant says it experienced a spill due to recent storms in the russian river. This happened right at night into saturday morning. The plant says less than 277,000 gallons of water spilled within the Treatment Plant property. Some of that water traveled a third of a mile before reaching the russian river. Chris assessed the impact and says there was no effect to fish or animals. The covid virus can stay more than a year in the body after infection.
