As we take a look at santa rosa, starting out mostly cloudy, temperatures in the mid50s. Look at the trend as we go into late morning. Were going to see it clearing out and slowly warming up. Lets go around the bay with a live look outside in san jose, where its going to be a nice 84 degrees, in millbrae expect it to reach up to 72 degrees, in concord in the upper 80s. You can see the range in temperatures. This is about normal for this time of year around the bay area and well see this hang out with us for a little while longer, with a slight warmup for the weekend. Well talk about that in a few minutes. Mike, youre starting with the south bay commute. I am. We expect to see this, the first burst of traffic starting to ease up a little bit. By about 6 15, they should be back at speed. But as school returned, we see a different Traffic Volume kicking in, especially after 7 00 a. M. Even now, ive been watching for the last week and a half and were watching more slowing, more traffic feeding in and continuing toward morgan hill. That will continue to feed the south bay. We will see more traffic building, maybe a little earlier than in the summer months. Over here, southbound 880 still shows a slower drive past 238, toward a street. A couple of crashes, but they are recovering as the volume builds out of the rest of the east bay. Back to you. Thank you very much. This is following gunfire that led to a lengthy campus lockdown yesterday. No one was injured and the district is telling us several people were later taken into custody. Students say the shots were fired near the school theatre. Parents are calling for metal detectors. The district so far not commenting on that, but says that it is now considering possible security enhancements. An unusual south bay crime ring cracked, according to san jose police. Seven people, including six juveniles, are now in custody, accused of using stolen cars for largescale smashandgrab robberies. Police say it happened at least two dozen times over the past half year. They released security video showing some cases targeting local smoke shops and say oftentimes the same type of cars are used, all late model kias or hyundais with a flaw allowing you to turn them on with nothing more than a usb cable.
