Also, how to convince skeptical citizens to take the vaccine. A vast majority would have to be vaccinated to achieve herd immunity. Blue ribbon Vaccine Commission may help ease some of those concerns. I would expect that review to be fairly quick and to give up another layer of certainty to the results that have been presented earlier today. I dont trust this. And as i say, im not a person that likes to take medications anyway. Im not going to take it until what i see what the results are from other people. Only then ill take it. As early as next month. Frontline workers should be getting the vaccine followed by Senior Citizens who live in retirement homes. But herd immunity, again, depends on young people getting vaccinated and front line workers and the elderly would have to be vaccinated first, the young people wouldnt be offered a vaccine until perhaps the spring. But its really hard to see this morning as we are talking about the low visibility and the fog and as we take a live look outside in walnut creek, were starting out cool with some mid 40s here. A calm wind and weve seen that fog kind of drifting around. So, as we check out san jose and the live view there, go across the bay and look at our high temperatures for this afternoon. This is the kind of weather well see into thanksgiving when maybe a lot more people will be putting up those decorations. Well talk more about that coming up in a few minutes. Mike, how is it looking as drivers try to make it through the fog . Kari, kind of like what your house might look like if you put the lights up. Marcus and laura, i got to thinking about what i said yesterday. 50 million doses by the end of the year. To put that in perspect sk, that is just the people in california and texas and nobody else. I mean, if thats how we distribute to put 50 million in some kind of perspective and i got to thinking about it and i check would pfizer on how theyre defining this idea of a dose. I thought it was the entire program. You need two doses of the Pfizer Vaccine, so, were talking about 25 million americans. That would be slightly more than half the population of california. And we have to remember, as well, it will be First Responders who will receive, first in line, basically, for the vaccine. It will be interesting to follow. Thank you so much. If you dont have anyone, get a big blanket. I wonder if it smells like pizza. Thats cheesy. All right. Lets get to whats going on this morning as we check out our weather and were starting out with some really dense fog, especially in the trivalley, as well as parts of the north bay. Our current visibility down to a quarter of a mile, thats not much farther than your headlights. And so you want to slow down especially in some of our valleys where we are seeing quarter mile visibility in napa and santa rosa. Now, as we continue to monitor whats going on with climate change, looking at San Francisco over the winter months on average from 1970 to now and 2020, weve seen our average temperatures coming up over three degrees. That is huge. Meaning the average temperatures are three degrees warmer. Now, recently i had someone ask me on facebook, why dont we get as much fog as we used to in San Francisco and this could be the reason why. Cooler temperatures allow for that water in the air to condense and creates that fog. But if its going to be warming up, we could see less foggy days along the coastline, as well as San Francisco. Thats something to think about as our climate warms. Were looking at temperatures today only making it into the upper 50s for highs along the coastline and inland areas will reach into the low 60s and livermore, antioch reaching 62 degrees. You can see at the bottom of the screen, were not going to see a lot of changes here as we go into next week. In fact, all the storm systems that well see will stay well to the north of us. Were going to see some fog developing for the next several mornings and issues with air quality as we are going to see no more rain coming in. The showers that we had yesterday was pretty beneficial. It will be nice to see some more, but as we lead into thanksgiving, we are going to see a dry weather pattern setting up and its going to remain. Well have to watch those morning temperatures as we drop down into the mid 30s in the inland valleys while San Francisco will see temperatures in the upper 50s today and tomorrow and then some low 60s into the weekend as well as next weekend. It looks like it does hold for thanksgiving, as well. Lets head over to you, mike. The fog causing any crashes or issues on the roadway . Not necessarily causing the crashes, at least not from chp reports. But this is the issue. Our friends in the control room protect me from showing you bad stuff. But i have asked them to show you this not great camera shot in fremont because the fog just drifted across our camera and we can no longer see 880 just below the camera. So, thats a rooftop camera. Tough visibility. Now, look at the map. On the map ive circled where that camera is and it looks clear as far as that visibility chart goes. We do have the orange blob over farther north in the trivalley and indicating even tougher visibility. So, there you go. Just because its clear on the map doesnt mean it will be completely clear for your visibility. Now, as we look out to the trivalley, definitely tough to see and 84 is suffering those. Those speeds are slower coming through livermore and pleasanton as a result. Keep that in mind. Arrow shows you where kari and i show you the dublin camera which is having trouble showing. Back to you. Thanks so much. 6 2 1. Coming up next, nbc bay area responds. Two airlines one refund and zero success getting it.
