He appeared virtually before a redwood city judge friday asking for a new trial. His attorneys claim they have new evidence and proof of juror misconduct. Today in the bays robert honda who covered the trial back in 2004 reports from the same courthouse that theres a strong possibility Scott Peterson<\/a> could get a new trial. Reporter its been a long time since Scott Peterson<\/a> was tried here, but the new round of legal wrangling can go in a different direction. No cameras allowed in court as the judge annechristine massullo with a masked peterson on camera. There are two separate issues before the court. In august, the california Supreme Court<\/a> overturned his death sentence and the prosecutors were looking to get it reinstated this month and the second issue which is attracting attention right now, massullo will decide if he should get a new trial because of juror misconduct. He waived his right to the speedy trial. Jamie peterson and his attorney pat harris say the jury misconduct and new evidence will lead to the new trial and a different verdict. Scotts innocent. And somebody else committed this crime. And were going to have an opportunity to not only show that hes innocent but show the evidence we have of culpability of other parties. Reporter dean johnson a longtime observer of the peterson case said its quite possible that the defense can generate reasonable doubt. We were in the 30s, including in santa rosa. Right now, 39 in santa rosa. Napa, 40. How much warmer are we going to get . Well, not much warmer. The 24hour temperature change is 16 degrees in napa so its running 16 degrees colder than yesterday.
