Its a familiar rallying cry in the wake of Deadly Police shootings across the country. That means cal and stanford will kick off a shortened season the first week of november. Its a major reversal here. Just last month the pac12 shut down the season because of covid19 concerns. Then after a lot of pressure, School President s and chancellors changed their minds. They also implemented tougher testing protocols. Which follow the science, follow the data, follow the advice from our medical experts, and that we know how badly our student athletes want to compete as student athletes for the pac12, but that we would only do so when we felt that we could do so safely. That was a Conference Call there with the commissioner of the pac12 and various officials from various schools. All pac12 teams will play seven games this season. Reporter air quality officials issuing an advisory for tomorrow. Winds are shifting and smoke is expected to flow south from the august complex fire near chico, the largest wildfire in california history. The air should only be in the moderate range in the north and east bay, much better conditions than people dealt with earlier this month. Unfortunately there may be some impacts from that, and then we also may see levels of ozone pollution because of the hot weather. Reporter but the hot weather saturday through monday along with the smog and smoke could lead to another spare the air day following a record month of them. We may have to, you know, take precautions to protect our health again over the weekend. But well see hopefully, you know, that will be a shorter spell.
