officer fired a weapon last night. This is not, however, near where the protests were happening last night around the same time. We dont have all the details yet but we can confirm the department is investigating that shooting that happened about a block from where i am north 8th and

is where it happened. We also confirm there was a hitandrun nearby that is related to the suspect shot by police. We will continue to prep for details in that case and will let you know when we get them. Also, look what else was happening after the curfew order went into effect. The driver in the bmw put on quite a show as onlookers set off fireworks all happening near

hall near where the protests were happening. Officers did arrest that driver and several other people. San jose police are also investigating at least one stabbing that happened at the 7eleven store just off the san jose state campus. It seems to have stemmed from a fight happening inside that convenience store. We know that at least one person was stabbed. There could be another victim as well. We know that homicide investigators have arrived on the scene. However, sjpd has not confirmed this is, in fact, a homicide investigation. Just a reminder, the curfew order not the shelter order, the shelter order is still in place but the curfew order runs from 8 30 at night until 5 00 in the morning n.
