Thanks, kari. Happening today you can now dine in restaurants, go shopping, if you live in napa county. The county just got the green light from the state to enter into the next phase of reopening. Restaurants and retailers who follow state safety guidelines can open immediately. Business owners we spoke with say they are thrilled. Locals are going to come out and theyre going to come out and theyve been supporting us with takeout, but all of our loyal customers that have been so supportive will get a chance to sit down and let us wait on them. When it comes to shopping, the president of the board of supervisors says that it will be a lot like going to the grocery store, limited numbers of people will be allowed inside. The city wants to help restaurants get ready to serve as many customers as possible as soon as they can. Once we are able to open to the public and allow people to come on property whether its the al fresco or outdoor areas, it will be a slow start. The county Health Department will sign off and the feds have to agree to allow outdoor alcohol sales. San mateo is considering a similar plan. Berkeley will vote in about two weeks. This is not a slam dunk. Yesterday as we were reporting on this i talked to the owner in willow glenn and she tells me there are a lot of costs associated with moving some of that business outside. So inside they have seating and under social distancing requirements will lose more than half of that seating, but the amount of seating they might be able to add outside probably wouldnt make up totally for that and they might have to buy canopies or heat lamps or misers to make sure diners are nice and comfortable. Californias Nursing Homes continue to be very vulnerable to covid19. New this morning the chronicle is reporting 35 of all people who have died from the virus died in nursing facilities. More than 1,100 residents and workers have been lost. They are giving until june 1st to submit a testing plan. Critics say thats just too late. 15,000 San Francisco Hotel Employees now out of work. Late morning, the sky will clear and well have comfortable weather. Our hour by hour forecast as we head into the rest of the morning, it will be a cloudy start for a lot of us. Look at just how it clears out as our temperatures reach into the low 70s by 2 00 for the inland east bay and were only going to see some upper 70s in a lot of those spots where we are going to have warmer weather. As we go into tonight a mostly clear sky and the weather pattern for the next several days shows High Pressure will build and well start to see the temperatures warming up. Its going to continue to heat up as we go into next week as well. So a big warming trend heading our way with a lot of sunshine, dry weather and were looking at some upper 70s today. But then as we go through the forecast you see 80s, mid80s, upper 80s. And then even 90s. Well have really hot temperatures so enjoy the nice, refreshing breeze because it will be air conditioning weather by early next week. How is it looking for the Early Morning commute . Im happier about the commute. You see no problems right now. We have been seeing slowing for west 580 and slowing into livermore about 5 00 to 5 30. In san jose a build at the bottom of your screen. Those are patterns as more folks hit the road. The overnight closure for the 101 alemany project. The live glimpses do show traffic reinstated for northbound 101 in the last few minutes. Lillian believes her money went to criminals. I just dont want this to happen to other people what happened to me. It really rips your heart out. Reporter the sellers website is now down. We called and emailed them but did not get a response. It turns out the photos lillian received appear to be from a different breeder in a different state. The Better Business bureau is tracking an uptick in puppy scam complaints. Recourse is nonexistent. The 800 numbers they use for you to call back to give details to are ghost numbers, so youre not going to be able to get your money back.
