Listen to this a rare type of sea slug called the blue dragon has been washing up on a seashore in texas. Is it me or does blue dragon sound like knockoff male enhancement pills that you get at a 7evelen . Right next to the sneakers well, once the pandemics over, i read that more workplaces will go back to cubicles and private offices, instead of openfloor plans thats too bad, because im really gonna miss hearing everyones hilarious ring tones. Eeew [ tibetan bowl chime ] heres a treasure. Theres no saint without a past, no sinner without a future and theres definitely no patriots without tom brady. Oh, they aint gonna do it this year no way, tom. Nuhuh, tompa bay, tompa bay heres a spot of light sent through a prism of rain drop and refracted and refracted. And reflected and refracted in fractals words can come back to haunt you, especially if you just ate tuna salad and youre wearing a face mask. Heres a bonus chunk of granola. Be a voice, not an echo unless youre trying to really annoy someone, annoy someone, annoy someone. [ chimes ] i see you i see you over there [ laughter ] this is a little blessing. Some say that happiness is a warm puppy, but nobody says that happiness is a Room Temperature cat. Exactly, man the wife, the toddler, the teenager, they all talk down to me i mean, granted theyre all taller than me, you know [ laughter ] thats cool. Ill give you that jimmy youre not that short, though. Tariq im not that short, but you know, just a little bit. You know, i just want to be built up a little bit, man you know jimmy what are they doing to you, man . Tariq theyre too petty, man. Its like they take all my favorite things, and they store them just a little bit beyond my reach [ laughter ] right . So, like its to make me think i can reach it and then, you know, i try. And then i realize i cant and then its like, oh, you know, why dont you grow up . But im full grown [ laughter ] its like, i dont have, you know, a retractable mechanical arm. I dont have, like, a ladder, a proper stepping stool or a a trampoline to pick up stuff, you know [ laughter ] jimmy so, youre not inspector gadget tariq yeah, what i wind up having to do is like, risk life and limb by climbing up on a a stool. And then i get what i need and then like to get back down, its more of an ordeal i got to like, you know, come down to one knee you know what im saying god forbid i jump off the stool. I mean, i could be jumping to my doom. Nah. Jimmy this is stress he does not need. This is stress you do not need tariq exactly. Its too much, man it irks me my 4yearold sota tariq he can reach everything he can reach everything, no matter how high we try to hide it jimmy hes a cool dude tariq last week i found a pile of wrappers and containers and stuff, like, hidden in the cabinet of all sorts of stuff, man. Gummies, snack bars, gogurts, random kitkat wrappers [ laughter ] it was a mess. And this is all stuff that we keep on the shelf. Its like 12 feet high you know what im saying im like, how can you reach that jimmy yeah, man. Tariq if youre that smart and that selfsufficient, you should be able to wipe your own butt, right . [ laughter ] i mean, you should be. But no, no you know what im saying i feel like he probably can, but hed just rather, you know, like call for the royal wiper, like prince akeem in coming to america. And then, you know jimmy why not . Tariq exactly. Then, here i come. Jimmy he knows what he can do and what he cant tariq yeah, it irks me, man. It irks me [ laughter ] do you know what else irks me . Jimmy what tariq you know, talkative tooth brushers jimmy talkative tooth brushers tariq yeah, its like my wife, man. I feel like, if its something pressing you that much that you have to tell me right now, dont wait until youre brushing your teeth. The electric toothbrush is going, the water going and stuff. And then, you know [ mumbling ] [ laughter ] its like youre speaking in morse code i dont understand that. Jimmy that is insane tariq and then, you know, she spits out the tooth paste, and its like, what time did you leave us last night . And im like, what do you mean what time did i leave you . Like, im still i didnt abandon my family. Like, i awakened and i left the room i started the day. Like, what time did i leave you . And then, you know, when i leave the room actually, shes never like bothered. Shes never worried about what time anything happens unless its my time like, when its her time, shes allergic to time but, if its me, its like, what time did you wake up what time did you leave . What time is the show today . What time do you guys get done . Like, you know, what time, what time, what time . But if we have to be somewhere, say, at 5 30, were leaving the house at 5 45. You know what im saying [ laughter ] and its like, come on, man. Like shes allergic to time otherwise. I dont know, man. Its crazy, crazy. You know, i mean, like me, im never late for anything. Im always on time you know that. You know that right . Im always on time i pride myself in being, you know, early even, right . Jimmy sometimes youre sometimes. He did seem a little irked guys, be sure to tune in tomorrow night oh, this is going to be big. Im very excited about this. We made a couple of phone calls and we got our pal brendon urie from panic at the disco to sing a song with me and the roots. And its a pretty famous song. And we were hoping that he would do it. Welcome to the family, right are we on nbc together now that is correct yeah, yeah im now with Nbc Universal so we work for the same folks. Jimmy im so psyched i saw that thing come in, i go oh, this gonna be fun, man. We can go to the same cocktail parties and not feel weird. Jimmy exactly. How are you in this quarantine are you getting anything done . Are you how are you feeling i am. Its like im getting im getting a lot done i find that like, you know, we set up all these crazy systems where i can edit the show from home i can record family guy and its the technical part of our culture, the way people have stepped up to kind of close these gaps for us is kind of amazing jimmy it is crazy, right yeah. Jimmy cause you do orville. You were in the middle of shooting season three. Yes jimmy which by the way, congrats on season two i saw that was like 100 fresh on Rotten Tomatoes yeah. Jimmy and thats always good but dude, so youre in the middle of doing season three and they go, sorry, were shutting everything down. We were right in the middle of the shooting an episode of the orville. So its like when this thing airs at long last whenever that is one episode is going to be such that youre going have people between one scene to the next, people are suddenly going to gain 20 pounds and have like long white beards. So jimmy unexplicable. Yeah no one can say why no no plans on when thats going to come out yet . Not it depends on when we get back to work it depends on jimmy right. In what conditions we get back to work so its yeah, its all i mean, its what weve shot about half the season. Its looking amazing i mean its were basically going to be delivering people a little movie every week, so. Jimmy i mean, do you find is that a lot of pressure on you . Because i mean, were all kind of looking for new family guys and new american dads. Yeah. Jimmy and man, it was like, seth, we need stuff we need content, dude. Like is it like again, thank you so much for coming on the show, by the way i really appreciate it oh, anytime i love it. Jimmy so many people watch and theyre big fans of yours. But i mean like, i dont know. Its like youre like, im only one man i can do this. I can do that. I mean i i like to stay i like to stay busy. I mean, and i and theres enough for me to do from a a writing standpoint and from a producing standpoint that i can i can find ways to fill to me, im coming to the realization that this is what ive always wanted, an excuse to never leave my house. [ laughter ] and yeah, you know, i try to the Biggest Issue for me is, you know, as i look ahead to whats next and as i start writing projects and im sure youve heard this before. When youre writing characters, its hard to predict how people are going to behave. Like, you know, jim shakes hands with bob like is that ever going to happen again jimmy yeah, youre right what is the world going to look like, and how much a part of day to day interaction between people is this going to be and you just cant predict that so youre just writing the world that we know now and so, thats the biggest challenge to me. Jimmy you can probably get away with it a little bit with family guy, right . Yeah, yeah. Yeah jimmy cause you kind of live in your own reality im luckily, im with two shows that dont really have to address it family guy is a cartoon and the orville is 500 years in the future so, i kind of lucked out i dont ever ask for jimmy yeah, you can make up whatever rules yeah, we never shook hands exactly jimmy i saw somewhere, i was looking on your instagram or Something Like that youve been drawing ever since you were a kid different comics and drawings and i thought that was awesome how old were you when you started doing that 12 13 i was about my parents have fred flintstones and woody woodpeckers and bugs bunny from when i was about two trying to like, you know, with my stubby baby carrot fingers trying to copy them off the tv, holding my pencil wrong but, yeah, i started you know, i experimented with animation for the first time i think when i was about 12. Jimmy yeah just making short films that were very crude and very, very, you know, loxy jimmy were you doing like video tape, like pausing it, and then changing the drawing then unpausing it . Yeah. You know, it was a super 8 camera, if you remember those. Jimmy yeah, its cause they go [ camera rolling ] yep, yep. Jimmy that one there was a setting on it where you could take one frame at a time. And so, that was what i was using. Jimmy wow. And you know, just coming out, you literally wait like eight weeks for the film to get developed cause its going to go to lik
