As we got the update yesterday morning, we know that now 11 more of the state is currently in a drought due to all of the dry weather weve had recently. A moderate drought includes parts of the bay area from the peninsula toward the east bay and then much of the central valley. So that is something were watching as we finally have some rain chances in the forecast as this cold front approaches bringing in the cooler air today. We could see the clouds that continue to move in. All of this ahead of the cold front that will bring in also more humidity. Going into tomorrow, as that low moves closer, were see sierra snow. For the bay area the rain is light and spotty and going into sunday it dries out. Another low approaches going into tuesday but now it looks like a lot of that rain will be focused just to our south. So the central coast, southern california, will have the best chance of rain. Well see if this altogether skips the bay area and at least were seeing some rain chances for the weekend. Rain is very light. Maybe up to a tenth of an inch for most of us. And then into next week higher rain chances. Once again this model showing that the rain is focused on the south bay, the south county and on southward. So that is what were watching as well as the sierra snow.
