Janelle, raj, i have to be honest with you, putting together tonights story was a bit of a challenge. I wanted to be sensitive to the story of one man in particular. There are many details were happy to leave out because you dont need them to get the message. One of kindness. If you want to make a connection with someone different than you lets see what it looks like. Meet them in the middle is what were told. It came out. It turns out exactly what Sean Sepulveda did five years ago. So much better. With lasting results. Over the years ive grown to love the guy. Hes turned into somebody we genuinely care about. Five years ago, ouenedis auto. And when he started noticing david, a man who lived in an apartment directly across the s im working and, you know, id always see him give me the look. Like he wanted to Say Something but he was a little passive and he didnt want to say too much to somebody. So this is where he seen me. Heed always sit on the end of the curb here by the edge of the gate. So sean decided to make the first move, right on the curb, right in the middle, you could say, of their two worlds. I was taking a break one day. It was hot, it was summertime. I grabbed a glass of water, grabbed myself a glass and sat down on the curb. I said, hey, whats up, im sean. He looked at me funny and said, im david. I lived here five years, going on six yearsful ive been here five years. Sean soon learned dave david was on his own and struggling a bit. He makes sure david is well cared for, well clothed and well fed. How many times do you take medicine . He keeps an eye on how hes doing. Lets others know when david might need some help. Hell be around me for the rest of his life. Ill never stop being around him. Hes always going to be my friend regardless. Thats incredible. That is incredible. I talked with someone who is family with sean and davids stories, professional. And what she said we talked about, you know, if everybody in crisis had somebody had a friend like sean, what an impact we could make on the problems we all have. Of course, she said if all of us had a friend like sean, what a better world this would be. You just need some simple kindness. You dont necessarily have to buy clothes and things like that, but just somebody reaches out. See somebody struggling, stop and say hi. Thanks, garvin.
