Lets get started this morning, moving on from that, talking about rain as kro the bacross t. It starts out soggy. Well see waves of rain throughout the day and well be tracking it all with storm ranger. Thats the red scan there, as our mobile doppler radar. We have it parked on san bruno mountain. You can access the same tool no matter where you are around the if youve got a smart phone download our nbc bay area app and see what storm is showing. And so were seeing some of the at the heavy rain s the sou thats moving over the Santa Cruz Mountains toward morgan hill, and gilroy, so were adding on to those rainfall totals from the same storm system that was over the bay area or throughout the weekend, the area of low pressure thats been rolling back to the north, so were seeing a lot of the rain moving from south to north, and so were not in the rain shadow this time in the south bay, and its going to continue to bring us off and on rain until the system moves to the north and east as we go throughout the day and our next storm system will be here for the weekend. We can see the long line of clouds and that upper level low thats just off to the west of that, that will be working all through the bay area going into the weekend. So for today, some rain that becomes a lot more scattered as we go into the afternoon. That live look outside, you do need to grab the umbrella and the rain boots, because we do still have a lot of puddles out there, that youll have to jump over, so here is a look at that next storm system coming in. Its going to take a while before it makes its way through. Well bring rain on friday into saturday, and even early on sunday, and this looks to be a pretty significant storm bringing some additional rainfall totals, anywhere from about one to four inches of rain, so well be watching out for that, and having a lot more updates, as we go closer to the weekend, and that storm temperatures stay cool with upper 50s and low 60s. The only dry days we have will basically be tomorrow and then again on monday. Mike, you have some big delays in the south bay. Thats right, kari, looking at lighter volar but this is a problem north 280 at tenth. Between tenth and 87. Were noticing in the last few minutes the slowing is lightening up as you approach the scene of the crash, most cases that means theyve cleared at least another lane. Three lanes blocked north 280, avoid that if you can, the jam up off of 680. Surface streets are moving okay but 85 and 87 showing more slowing as well. Here lets look at waze, whats happening, as waze is advising unfortunately but as is the trend for folks who know the area you avoid 101, take it over here to 87, so its about 45 minutes for the drive and the build, lets remove these timing and we see the big build for 85 as folks try to avoid the backup here. Keep that in mind as we get back to our maps that will affect folks out of south county and cong up highway 17 just got hit with rain. The rest of the bay shows a lighter build across the san mateo bridge, of course we have the slowing for west across from 880 over to 101 and the bay bridge westbound traffic backs up at the toll plaza, a mild build for the upper east shore and n a loft problems for c Contra Costa County. Happening now, japans government working on an economic stimulus package worth hope to gr billioncial. And utilities in preparation for natural disasters. Continue the warn being the wet roadways but san jose has the Traffic Alert right now. North 280 total of about seven or nine vehicles at one point involved in this crash.
