If the internet goes down, if we lose power and internet, thats night and day. We would lose the ability to keep and store food which is the majority of which is donated. Tonight pg e says anyone like that needs to make sure they have a plan for what could be days without power. If that goes down, the ambulance they come frequently even with power. So these guys are dependent on oxygen. Reporter san joses mayor called a Late Afternoon press conference to urge everyone to be ready, even if youre just near a possible outage zone. You should get a gallon of water per day per person. Flashlights with extra batteries. Canned or nonperishable food and can opener and portable power banks for your phone. Alert this evening highlighting Emergency Services sent out this the areas it says will definitely lose electrical power come wednesday. We always have a back up plan for power outages. From the napa county sheriffs office, pg e announced plans to begin Public Safety power shut offs in napa county beginning early wednesday morning that may extend five days. Five days is youre looking at 40, 50,000 worth of business. You dont want that to happen. Reporter at home depot theres been a run on generators. There is not one left on the shelves. But not everyone is taking precaution or, really, even concerned. I havent been doing anything about it. All the areas in orange, that includes most of the north bay, east bay and the Higher Elevations of the south bay. Thats from thats from 5 00 a. M. On wednesday till 5 00 p. M. Thursday. A dryer wind out of the north o and off wind gusts of 20 to 40 Miles Per Hour sustained or average wind, 10 to 20. And humidity could be as low as 10 . Number one zone were focused in on for the highest fire danger is santa rosa, right over to vacaville, down to mt. Diablo. So when would you start to notice the wind picking up . I think by wednesday at 6 00 p. M. , wind gusts 10 to about 25 Miles Per Hour with the highest gusts 23. Over to vacaville. I dont want to string you along. Now, a fire that rattled nerves and triggered evacuations in American Canyon is fully contained. Firefighters managed to get a ring around the fire a few hours ago. Fire started yesterday a mile away from American Canyon high. Quickly burned some 5 00 acres. At this point we dont know how it started. Just as one fire is contained, another is ramping up. Thats the brice berg fire in mariposa county. As of tonight, at least 550 acres have burned, and its only 5 contained. The fire triggered evacuations, forcing the closure of yosemites main entrance. The park is open. Rangers say visitors should expect a lot of smoke if you decide to go. All this fire comes on the eve of a milestone. Tomorrow marks two years since the north bay wildfires. Tubbs, nuns and devastated sonoma county. 22 people died and thousands of homes were destroyed. Cal fire determined thatpowe li fires, except for the tubbs fire, which was blamed on an illegal power system on private property. Other head lines tonight, a memorial in san jose to honor a 21yearold woman who was killed in a car crash over the weekend. Family members identified the woman as savannah hernandez. Her mother spoke to the crowd as she mourned the loss of her daughter. Please. Cherish the people in your life and value your life. Savannah hernandez was found inside of a pickup truck early yesterday morning in sunnyvale. Chp officers were called out following reports of another girl, a 17yearold, walking on 101. Officers believe that teenager had been in the car with hernandez when she crashed into a tree. That teenager was arrested for drunk driving. Crime tape is up in the Pittsburg Bart station. It happened a few hours ago around 7 00. Someone reported gunfire wn the hunted for the shooter. No one hurt, but police say they did detain five people. Trains are up and running again tonight. The hogs travel in packs, like the ones you see here caught on camera last thursday. Robert joakim came face to face with close to a dozen wild pigs in his dublin front yard two weeks ago. The city of dublin has been closely monitoring the pig problem. Officials say the pigs are increasingly migrating into erneh lush green king for snails lawns and there isnt an easy fix. Im a little worried at some point someone is going to be cross paths with a wild or a ferrell pig, and maybe something bad will happen. Reporter now, experts say keep your distance from these pigs because they can be aggressive. And try not to water your lawn. That attracts the pigs. San carlos originally adopted the ordinance six months ago, but then allowed time for off their shelves. As ofrow morning, flavored Tobacco Products will no longer be sold in pharmacies and usingt be allowed within San Carlos City limits. The bay area housing crisis is impacting local schools. Young families are increasingly being priced out and schools are starting to see a decline in enrollment. A recent report by the palo alto unified School District found Elementary School enrollment has issue. Lower birth rates also to blame. Not everyone is complaining about that declining enrollment. John bitter pleaded guilty last week to embezzling nearly a million bucks from the santa clara swim club. This is a high profile club. Bacteria levels are rising and city leaders want to know why. The park has been closed since early august after a spike in bacteria levels. Signs are posted to stay out of the water.
