He opened fired when a deputy was chasing him. That deputy is hospitalized with a superficial hand injury. They caught jefferson in a chase that started in south in nevad. He struck one deputy in the hand. Two deputies returned fire at the subject, who continued. The suspect crashed at the intersection of kingsbury grade and sierra shadow drive where he was arrested. Jefferson is a suspect in a homicide yesterday on Market Street in oakland around 10 in the morning. He allegedly shot and killed Marcus Jackson in his own driveway. Police say jefferson stole jacksons car and fled.
