house speaker nancy pelosi for defending omar, accusing her of losing all control of congress and getting nothing done. he's also calling omar out of control. this morning, tensions reaching a fever pitch between president donald trump and freshman minnes omar. omar saying overnight she's receiving an increase in death threats following a tweet friday by the president, accusing her of downplaying the september 11th terror attacks. the backlash against omar, a somali-american, one of the first muslim women elected to congress, talked about 9/11 during her speech to the islamic relations. >> care was founded after 9/11 because they recognize that some people did something and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties. >> reporter: that phrase, some people did something, striking her critics as an insensitive way to refer to the worst terror attack in american history. prompting the president to tweet, we will never forget, to his nearly 60 million follow e cities that don't comply with federal immigration laws. many are democratic strongholds. raising the question, is this political rhett etributioretrib? sarah sanders said the bottom line is they don't want to put the burden on border communities. critics firing back they're usi using these migrants as pawns. the idea had been floated twice to dhs but had been rejected over legal and budgetary concerns. >> meanwhile, some of the democrats in the states where the president is talking about sending undocumented imgramigra appear to be calling his bluff on this. >> reporter: they do, willie. they seem to be taunting the president over all of this, saying they would welcome migrants, including governor inslee of washington state. he's also a 2020 presidential candidate. take a listen. >> look, you can't threaten somebody with something they're not afraid of. we are not afraid of diversity in the state of washington. this is yet another act of bombastic chaos that simply is not going possible. >> it's a pretty surreal feeling, to be honest. >> reporter: along with his personal problems off the course, woods' comeback from debilitating injuries, including four back surgeries, was a absolutely. the country was glued to that show yesterday. kerry, thanks o much. >> let'so to mike teririctiricot flew back. >> i'm here. >> i was reading about this. a couple years ago, i read tiger woods was telling people he didn't think he'd ever play golf again. >> yes. >> it was that bad. he was laid out. how do you get from that to this? the absolute height of his sport. >> yeah, the back fusion surgery is the physical reason. the mental hurdles were significant, as well. he could not be the same golfer, prepare the same way, that he used to. he has found a way to do that. he did tell some of the champion ons at t champions every dinner on tuesday for the masters, the past winners of the tournament, i think i might be done. there was genuine concern. he wasn't overstating it. it was an amazing part of the comeback. >> you covered every event in sports there is to cover, major events. how does yesterday rank for you? >> there was a point on the 18th green, i was calling it on national radio, i thought, this is the best sporting event i've been to. >> wow. >> it was so incredibly emotionally charged, not just from tiger and the people around him, but the family, the fans, the patrons, as they're called at augusta national. i don't remember them being that emotionally connected to a golfer. >> i think you know tiger well. as a mother, i'm sorry, when he goes and hugs the kids, it was just absolutely so touching. he plays it pretty cool though. he's a pretty stoic guy. to me, he seems like he was really feeling the emotions, as well. >> that got him. if you asked him, in an honest moment, i'll give you one picture you can put over your fireplace of the fifth masters and the 15th major, it'll be the hugs with charlie, his son, sam, his daughter. charlie, the son, because it was almost in the same spot where he hugged his dad, as you said at the top of the show, savannah, 22 years before. dad no longer there. it is coming full circle. the daddy/daughter hug, any of us with daughters, when they appreciate what you've done. sam is the older one. >> 11 years since he's won a major. they haven't seen him succeed at golf. >> tiger said all they know is golf brings dad pain. now, it brings him joy still. >> i was talking to jordan spieth a few months ago in an interview, and we were talking about tiger. he said, tigue ser is a differe guy. he is hanging out with the players, walking over in the practice tee, giving guys tips, things he wouldn't have done in the past. he said he seemed more relaxed. spieth predicted tiger would win again in a major. is he a different guy? >> no doubt. heading to the kentucky derby, blinkers, they put them on the horses to not see out the side. tiger had blinkers on all the time when he competed. this week, he smiled and interacted with everyone. because he thought it was gone, he became closer to this era of players. now, it feeds back and forth. a bunch of them were waiting when he got done. i've never seen that many players waiting for a masters champion. >> i saw a lot of green jackets wanting to give him a hug. >> yes. >> it was a very suspenseful game. call it a game? i'm not a golfer. >> final round. >> suspenseful, right? that's where his experience came to play. he kept his cool. >> no doubt, savannah. you hit it. full sports fan. >> thank you, sort of. >> 12th hole, when the leader, molinari, put a ball in the water, tiger knew, i'll go left, get on the green, let them make mistakes, and i'll plot around the golf course. perfect analysis to golf. >> can i ask one more, savannah? >> yes. i've already embarrassed myself. >> tiger has three more majors to catch jack. is that on the board now? >> look, i was completely wrong, along with a lot of people, saying he wouldn't win another routine, or did you sense that something might be a little bit off? >> i was a little nervous. but that's usually, that's pretty typical at a competition. i didn't think anything was off. it was just a lot of, there was a lot of energy in the arena. so, i mean, everything felt normal like it usually would be at a competition. >> sam, you are a big-time s.e.c. gymnast. you probably made that pass a thousand times in your life. what was your reaction, obviously, than the pain, when the injury took place? >> so at first i thought that like my, i could feel my pass was off by just a little bit, but it didn't seem too not normal, i guess youou cld say, just because usually, even if they feel off, i can usually pull it through or i'll end up on my butt. but when i landed that one i felt like something was a little wrong, and i thought i had just hyperextended my knees until i looked down and that wasn't the case. so then that's when like when i saw what had happened, that's when like the pain kind of start today set in and it got worse. and so it was just, it was a big just like oh, shoot, what just happened? >> you showed a lot of grace and bravery just in that very moment. you told your teammates to keep going, go on with the competition, and then you realized very quickly that that was going to be it for your gymnastics career. how have you managed this with such a good positive spirit? >> i mean, just because like even if that had been my -- even though that was my last gymnastics meet, everything we do, everything i have done and trained for at least at auburn has always been for my team. and just knowing that i have their support behind me 100%, like no matter what happens, like that's always helped me. in this situation, it's always helped just because like everyone has been so supportive. like my coaching staff, my teammates, my parents, my friends, my family, like they were always there right along with me in the whole process. >> as you say, sam, there has been an outpouring of support across the country from people for you. but you did tweet over the weekend, you wrote this. going through the pain and seeing my knees bent unnaturally in real life was horrible enough. my pain is not your entertainment. asking people not to share the video on social media. what's the reception been like over the weekend? >> mine, i think it's been better. i think it's made people more aware of what they see on the internet. like i know i have had a couple of friends that have texted me, have visited me since i have been back in auburn, i want you to know i saw some of my friends like sharing it and i asked them politely, i was like, hey, that's one of my good friends. like could you please take it down? and they were like, oh my gosh, i'm so sorry. and they were able to take it down. and i think it brings more awareness of like when you see something like that, you want -- you kind of want to watch to see what happens because you are curious about it, but at the same time like you don't think about the people that it could impact, whether it's like that person's friends or family or that person. and so that's kind of been something that we've been, i guess, more looking at with that. >> it's a really good reminder for people. sam, we want to end on all of the positives in your life. you have got a job lined up at boeing. she is just,
