More heartbreaking news for a bay area family. A second little girl has died after being involved in a crash two days ago. She has been declared brain dead at

in oakland. A vigil will be held in her honor about an hour. She was riding with her mom and sister when their vehicle was hit by a pickup truck driven by a 23yearold man who was running from the cops. The girls mother underwent surgery after being severely injured but has been released. The suspect has been charged with murder. The victim of a hitandrun in san pablo is fighting for his life this evening. The driver accused of hitting and leaving the person in the street is under arrest. Happened near 23rd street and brookside drive. Police were led to him after finding a sedan with front end damage near the scene of the crash. Cases of dog flu spreading. It doesnt seem like this storm system is going to be bringing major rain totals, but still something to keep an eye on. That weather system is pretty far off to the north. But as i zoom this in, you can see a lot of the white. Thats actually snow. When can we expect to see the rain in your area . As far as the south bay, the south bay not really expecting too much rain if this. About 4 00, you can see the majority of that is still pretty far off to the north. We saw mostly cloudy conditions early on. If i fast forward this through 7 30, you can see some of those showers push down through the south, napa or oakland. Fast forward this again through about 8 00. If you notice not really pushing down toward the south bay. The majority of those showers expected to become heavier around 9 00 or 10 00 for the north bay. We have expecting periods of heavy rain to come down through napa and san rafael. If you have an

Not really expecting too much rain through tonight. A little over an inch possible through monday in the north bay, less than a tenth of an inch expected for san jose. Growing up in piedmont, she started skiing later in life, but she even managed to get a degree from berkeley as well as a masters in business all while skiing near the top of her sport. The other difference is an experience that showed her skiing isnt everything. Dreams can be a powerful motivator. The hope of one day competing at the

has pushed casey oakleys body up and down the mountain many times when it would rather not. So casey knows

are important. They are not, however, everything. That, a lesson casey began learning her very first day at u. K. Berkeley. So i met jill walking into first day of classes. Reporter

was a cox for the berkeley crew team. The two soon became best friends, roommates and sorority sisters, each living their best lives until the end of their junior year. June 2009, everything changed after that. Reporter jill was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. Her senior year would be filled with chemotherapy and radiation. Jill continued going to school, continued to row. The craziest thing within that year was she was waking up at 4 30 a. M. Every morning with a smile on her face. What probably inspires me most in my skiing still is if she can do that while shes fighting lung cancer, then theres nothing really to ever complain about with my skiing. Reporter jill died not long after graduation. And casey returned to her olympic quest, but with a much different perspective. Generally when you go through a situation like that, what you really realize is despite your love and passion for a sport, its always your friends and family that are most important. Reporter with that in mind, casey honors jill to this day, running jills legacy and raising enough money over the years to fund a first of its kind young person

study, a goal medal, if you will, of a different kind. Her situation has taught me the most in life out of any situation ive been through. June 2009, everything changed after that. Reporter jill was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. Her senior year would be filled with chemotherapy and radiation. Jill continued going to school, continued to row. The craziest thing within that year was she was waking up at 4 30 a. M. Every morning with a smile on her face. What probably inspires me most in my skiing still is if she can do that while shes fighting lung cancer, then theres nothing really to ever complain about with my skiing. Reporter jill died not long after graduation. And casey returned to her olympic quest, but with a much different perspective. Generally when you go through a situation like that, what you really realize is despite your love and passion for a sport, its always your friends and family that are most important.
