I got more detail of the onramp closed at seventh street because of flooding thats been overnight. Rain through the area. The san rafael bridge, a quick look shows water on the lens. The National Weather service saying 3. 37 inches of rain fell in San Francisco just yesterday. Thats a lot of rain. Considering there was so much rain last winter. So far, this is the wettest day since 2014. Where we are standing at 17th and fulton street, prone to a lot of flooding, they have a history of it. They have flood barriers. If you are driving in this area, this looks familiar. Thats to protect businesses and homes in the area from flooding. Its been a problem. We have seen it and i have covered it. The flood barriers are in place. As far as the flooding this morning, i want to show you cell phone video i got on the drive in. This is 101 south. You can see crews to the left of the screen working on that area. There was flooding on the freeway. We typically see that in the area as well as cesar chavez street. That was an hour ago, the video you were looking at with flooding on the freeway. The wettest day in San Francisco since 2014, yesterday. About 2. 7 inches in downtown San Francisco, alone. Taking you back out here live, take a look at those flood barriers. I want to mention, this year, the city is offering funding to folks to homes and businesses if they want to retro fit to get ready for the flooding and a call in case issues happen. We spoke to a homeowner in fountain grove, a home narrowly avoided by being destroyed by the flames. I was driving and hit a puddle of water that has never been there in the ten years we have been here. We have lived through a lot of rain. Its a shocker. Happening today, a new Development Just hours ago in the case of this man seen in the Surveillance Video moments before police say he robbed and sexually assaulted a teacher at a south bay middle school. That 23yearold san jose man faces very serious charges as he goes to court for the first time today for crimes that police say he committed within a half mile of where he lives. The suspect, Andrew Bracamonte was arrested thursday in San Francisco on charges of sexual assault, robbery and false imprisonment. You might remember this video from tuesday as the suspect arrived on the campus. He entered a classroom where a teacher was working ahead of her students arrival. He entered the room, locked the door, turned off the lights and assaulted the victim before threatening to shoot her if she did not remain in the classroom. She did not see a gun. In this part of the Surveillance Video, you can see the suspect discard his beanie and other clothing. Police found that beanie in a field nearby along with a cell phone. Police k9 tracked the suspect to his home a half mile away. A warrant was issued for his arrest and a phone call he wanted to surrender. He cut his hair and had a friend drive him to San Francisco. They are not optimistic that is the case. We checked records. He is not on parole nor is he on probation or a registered sex offender, either. If the charges stick that he faces today, that will change. He is due in court at 1 30 this afternoon. Nbc bay area will have a crew there. In san jose, kris sanchez, today in the bay. We have new details of a double shooting over the weekend. Police arrested three people, still looking for a fourth. This happened at northgate park. They heard a car, broke into and tried to stop the thieves and they were shot. The victims are expected to survive. The search is on for a person who slashed tires on 19 cars, causing thousands of dollars of damage in san mateo. Someone took a knife or sharp tool and punctured the tires. 5 09. Looking at the rain from now to january, getting almost a half of what we normally get for the month because of this heavy round of rain. We are going to have a chance of rain throughout the morning and early afternoon. A quick shot of showers tomorrow, especially in the north bay and then another round on thursday. For areas mostly north of santa rosa, i think most of the bay area will stay dry. As we head into the weekend, clouds moving in and a chance of rain. Once again, another storm system approaches. Doesnt look to be that strong. The temperatures stay in the upper 50s over a few days in San Francisco. The weekend, looking really nice with highs in the low 60s. South 880, you are going to see brake lights, hit your brakes and ease on to them because of the slick conditions down to 237 where all but the slow lanes are blocked by a crash.
