She says shes worried about her leasew who was out for a walk at the time of the shooting. We were just eating and then we seen all of these cops just driving through here. And so we all came outside, and then we were trying to call my nephew to see if its him because he walks down through that way. Police have not released any sformation on suspects. Well streets are back open in Mountain View after a deadly crash involving a charter bus nod a motorcycle. That happened around 6 00 last night. As you can see, cleanup went well into the night. Were going to talk about that sierra snow pass, lets get a live look outside right now, ocean beach, and its been so mild here, breezy, a lot of sunshine and we are going to continue to warm up from here looking at anderson reservoir, normally this is the time were replenishing those reservoirs, we can see how dry it is right now and the water levels have been quite low and now our temperatures are in the mid50s which is still a little bit on the cool side. You still need a light jacket and then our temperatures today warm up to 64 degrees in downtown san jose. 66 degrees in gilroy, and well have some low to mid60s for the east bay. Also you want to check out that seven day forecast at the bottom of the screen showing that we will have several more days of some dry weather. Oakland, well see a high of 60 degrees today and 60 also in redwood city. San francisco, upper 50s, mostly sunny skies and north bay look for a high of 64 degrees in santa rosa and napa. 62 degrees. So lets talk about how dry its been and this is the driest weve had driest december weve had since 2011 and 1989, weve only measuringed 800ths of an inch in santa rosa, oakland, almost a tenth of inch of rain there. This is for the whole month. And we are still meeting at least three to five inches of rain even more in the north bay. We are going to try to catch up with that during the month of january because of right now, were only zero to 3 of normal. Only measuring the very trace amounts that weve seen throughout the month. But, were still doing pretty good as we look live at north star. We know that at times, especially at night, they make some of the snow there and kind of smooth things out. Weve had some cold temperatures in the sierra, but our snow pack still very low as we get a look at some of the numbers there and compare it to last year, were only at about 28 of average, statewide, for our sierra snow pack month today. And the central sierra, only 33 of normal. So we talked about that chance of rain in the forecast next week. Hopefully it will bring in a pretty good amount of rain and some snow, but too far out right now to tell, but the models are picking up on a pretty good plume of moisture and a change in this pattern that will hopefully continue into the month of january. And we are going to have a few more days of some dry weather, which is probably good news for everyone going out for a party or have some new years eve plans, itll be in the mid40s for our low temperature in San Francisco, highs up to 60 degrees and then well start to see some more clouds moving in as soon as we flip that calendar to 2018. Our High Temperatures for the inland areas as warm as 67 degrees, cold during the mornings and all dry until well be tracking that rain until tuesday into wednesday of next week. The audio sheds light on the moments right after impact when people were thrown from the train and others were sadly pinned inside. The aftermath of a massive derailment when amtrak 501 took a 30 mile an hour curve that was nearly 80 miles an hour on its run sending passenger cars careening off a bridge and into rush hour traffic trapping several drivers in their cars. Theres been a mudslide or something, ive been hit. Reporter cameras show the engineer appeared to realize the train was going too fast six seconds before the crash. But never pulled the emergency brakes. Amtrak 501, emergency, emergency. Emergency. We are on the ground. Reporter as the calls to 911 continued to flood in, dispatchers worked to keep those hurt from panicking. And how old are you . I dont know, how old are you . Off the top of my head. Reporter all told, nearly 100 people were taken to several hospitals. Three people killed, including jim and zack. Nbc investigators are now working to figure out why the engineer failed to slow the train down before the curve. And reviewing everything that happened in hopes of preventing another tragedy on the tracks. As for answers, the nbc says the full review could take 12 to 24 months. Part could include a look at whether an automated safety feature called positive train control would have prevented that crash. Reporter her company had this billboard along freeway 580 advertising her medical marijuana facility for a year. But after getting pushback from her community, she took it down.
