more. so complicated. >> it is. the san jose police releasing the video to convince the public the shooting of a murder suspect on kirk haven court last night and another officer killing near capital express way and center on sunday night were justified. the people out here tonight are not convinced. >> you see how they were, the suspects were running after and intimidating and terrorizing the victim. >> this is video from an office complex on lunldy avenue. where police say a victim was terrorized and murdered. one suspect here, 38-year-old matthew castillo, shot to death by police in front of a laundromat sunday night. last night, richard jacquez killed by officers after ran in a brief car chase. these pictures captured the scene. officers approaching on foot. police say these are straightforward cases. tonight more than 100 people turned out at the spot where the murder suspect jacquez was killed last night. to remember him as someone far different than the man in the video. >> a good person, a loving person. this is his grand daughter right here. >> and the police officers in our community killing us and shooting us down. >> reporter: police say the two men killed this week were the ones doing the killing. >> the suspects were running after and intimidating and terrorizing the victim. >> the third suspect has not been identified. san jose police are hoping someone out there can help them find him. they're hoping maybe he can turn himself in. nbc bay area news. >> thank you. it has been a violent august in san jose. four police involved shootings. here they are. the first one was last sunday in east san jose. then the following day, a man killed himself after officers opened fire on. august 16, officers shot a suspect on center and east capitol express way. and the most recent yesterday in south san jose. >> crews on the scene of a vegetation fire in the south bay. happening at san felipe road in south san jose. right near the silver creek country club. so far it has only burned an acre so things are good and no home in the area are being threatened. but it is giving firefighters some trouble because it is burning in a steep canyon. so what is it exactly and is it dangerous? maybe even explosive? the mysterious smell is prompting people to call 911. many are claiming it smells like natural gas. it brought out an army of pge workers and hazmat to investigate. this has been going on all day. do we have any answers? >> reporter: it has. it's been going on since 9:00 this morning. tonight the smell is noticeable and pge will continue to monitor the smell through the night even though they don't know the source of the smell. pge is taking the situation very seriously. >> i thought it was these neighbors and they weren't home. i was like, let me call 911. >> reporter: shelley harper making the 911 call because of the punkent odor near the o dotco. >> the fire department said it was a spill nearby and they knew what was going on. and it was nothing for us to be concerned about. >> reporter: but the fire department was concerned enough to send a hazmat team and make a call to pge. >> we sent out about dozen 2 dozen gas technicians to sweep the area using our state-of-the-art equipment and have not found any traces of natural gas. >> the search for the sources of the mysterious odor started this morning and continued into the night near this cluster of businesses on medford avenue. >> i can smell it from inside my office and the odor is really strong. >> i called my husband. he said was it the earthquake? i didn't put two and two together. >> reporter: tonight pge says 2 and 2 doesn't always have the results. >> it is something to be concerned about. >> reporter: kenya richardson and her neighbors are not so sure. >> i remember san bruno and thing like that. >> i'm concerned about long term effects. chemicals or things that can happen with the kids, family members. >> reporter: the fire department believes that the smell could be coming from a business using a different method of cleaning tanks but they're not sure. the folks around here are still under easy. reporting live in east oakland. four broke in berkeley and richmond. >> although we can't say for hurt the that those breaks had to do with the earthquake, it is very likely. they are the older cast iron pipes. >> it was a 4.0 quake near teed mont. the angel of grief is missing an arm. this is a notable statue on the campus. the angel of grief is more than 100 years old. this is a picture before someone ripped off her left arm. built in 1908, the statue was restored in 2001 but is once again in need of repair. a candlelight vigil was held tonight for two boys killed in yosemite national park last week. they died when a tree branch snapped and fell on to their tent as they elementary school. the freak accident has sent shock waves through orange county community. those who knew the boys gathered at the pool where the two played water polo to grieve together. >> i miss him so much. >> pretty much always together. no matter what tournament we were at. they were always laughing. so much fun to talk to both of them. >> dragon was about to start his sophomore year at the orange county school of the arts and justin was an incoming freshman there. yosemite is dealing with another case. plague. a visitor from georgia who visited the park this year has come down with plague like symptoms. the centers for disease control is testing the patient to confirm the diagnosis. california's health department is working with park rangers to determine what areas the sick camper visited. the plague which is transmitted by mosquitos can be deadly if it is not caught early. a warning on the peninsula. keep your pets indoors. animal control says there have been a series of cat maulings in palo alto. coyotes are to blame. two cats were recently found dead. it is right along el camino. city leaders say there have been several coyote sightings near deer creek and page mill road. experts say the drought is causing wild animals to travel further from their usual habitat in search of food and water. from pitch man to criminal. jared from subway sand witches is expected to plead guilty to child porn charges. he became famous when he says he lost 200 pounds with the help of a subway sandwich diet. six weeks ago his life took a dramatic turn. police seized electronics and dvds in a porn bust. subway ended its relationship with him soon after the arrest. it's a story we first told you about last month when hackers claimed stolen information from the cheating site, ashley madison.com. at that point they demanded the site be shut down. today they made good on that threat. it was names, addresses and phone regenerative medicine is moving to oakland. the program finlsed by state taxpayers has been operating in mission bay and san francisco rent-free as part of the deal with the city. after ten years, they can't afford the san francisco rent. the institute is taking its 53 employees to an office building overlooking the lake. >> from blue to pink. the world's first drug designed to boost the woman's search drive has been approved by the fda. supporters of the so-called female viagra say it is a victory for women. but critics warn it could have some side effects. here's more on this new kick in about four weeks later. it increases sex drive by changing a chemical imbalance among three neuro transmitters in the brain that impact desire. in one study, women taking it reported a 53% increase in sexual desire. and one more satisfying sexual experience every month. doctors say a treatment for a woman's lacking libido is long overdue. >> we're not trying to make people sex crazed. we're trying to normalize what has been for them not only a very abnormal situation but a very distressing situation. >> there are side effects like low blood pressure and nausea. it should not be they all across the bay for the simple reason that we're dealing with this westerly wind. 10 to 20 miles an hour. and there's where you may need a jacket. 67 degrees in the north bay. let's take you into the morning forecast. if you are getting up early, getting the kids ready for school. 54 in the north bay. 10 to 15 miles per hour. the westerly wind will help keep the temperatures down but also begin to clear out the air quality. we had a little improvement today. it looks like it will stay at the moderate range. so much, much better than this past weekend as well when it was so smoky and also hazy. now into the forecast. here's the crazy thing. the area of high pressure that produced all of that heat is still sitting right on top of california. the storm track that produces most of the cooling and some rainfall to the north. why have we cooled off? it is all about the fog. the fog layer is the main reason we're confident. we'll continue to see temperatures go down a few more degrees. by this weekend we'll be between two different storm systems. some of these will stay in place. we're not talking about 100s coming back. wednesday, sunny skies in san jose and 84 degrees. now, saratoga will be a little bit of a hotter spot. around cupertino as well. no 90s. for the coastline, peninsula, right across pacifica. 67 degrees. a few clouds for palo alto. 79. in san francisco, right toward the financial district. 68 degrees. for the north bay, east bay and the tri-valley, we are out of the 90s tomorrow in the tri-valley. that is looking really good for you. 87 degrees in livermore after that 106 degrees that we had on sunday's forecast. the east bay, oakland at 75. and walnut creek one of our hotter spots. by the this weekend it looks great. no 100s coming back saturday or sunday. san francisco in the low 70s. for the north bay, we can expect temperatures in the mid 80s. a good day back at school. just might need the light jacket. >> and all the dads
