Good morning, matt, mullah omar is one of the most wanted men in the world. The one eyed leader of the Afghan Taliban almost a quarter century. He welcomed Osama Bin Laden as a guest into the country and after 9 11 he was head of the government that refused to hand bin laden over or to expel him. He fled as u. S. And Coalition Forces swept in and led the insurgentcy that claimed the lives of 3,000 troops. The u. S. Offered 10 million for his capture. Now the Afghan Government is looking into reports that he is dead. One Afghan Intelligence official telling nbc news, the government has not come to that conclusion. He didnt say what the evidence is but the government is convinced mullah omar died about two years ago of hepatitis and his death was kept secret to keep the taliban united. Nbc news cannot confirm hes dead and indeed there have been many reports of omars death the last in may of this year. Hes been in hiding since 2001 and in ill health. Hes normally so reclusive, its thought hes only been photographed twice. One senior taliban official saying hes 100 sure that omar is dead. Look into these reports yet they havent been able to find him or track him down since 2001. I dont know how they are going to do that. I think whats extraordinary, theres rumors circulating but an afghan official confirmed reports and we are looking into it. The news at home, the heat, oppressive and not going anywhere. I heard a giant kprash and all of a sudden, people started to run and then screaming. I just went out there and started grabbing little kids out of the way. Reporter 33 campers ages 6 to 8 scrambled for their lives. Eight of them didnt escape the fall. As frantic parents became first responders. The teachers were just besides themselves, just screaming and i tell you u. The sight of a childs injured body. Reporter firefighters armed with chain saws pulling children out from underneath the branches. We have three patients, two critical. Reporter rushed to the nearest hospital in Critical Condition, suffering blunt force trauma. We need two companies, one company per patient and were going to be transporting them. Reporter a half dozen other campers treated for bruises and cuts and scrapes. There were a lot of panic with the parents crying and everybody scattering around. All in one. We have the taste testers downstairs. Delayed gratification. Keep eating talk about the ingredients, brandy. You need heavy cream, Vanilla Ice Cream, strawberry preserves. For the funnel cake eggs sugar, milk flour, baking powder salt oil, powdereded sugar. Really easy. You have Vanilla Ice Cream and are using preserves. Why not fresh fruit . Go ahead and add the preserves. This is behind the idea when you go and get a funnel cake at the carnival or at a fair you get the slices of really uneven strawberries. You can use blackberry blueberry or nutella, cook putie butter. And it is reminiscent of the funnel cakes on the boardwalk. Speaking of the boardwalk, is it hot out there, guys . Oh so hot. Borderline uncomfortable. So i am going to fold in heavy whipping cream. How hard is that . Thats how i get these guns in the kitchen. I just whip all day whip all day long. You just add the ice cream here. After a couple minutes youll have stiff peaks. It keeps its shape, there we go. Ill help you out. And because you work so hard to fold in all of the whipping cream, just gently fold it into your ice cream. Now this is why do you have to be so gentle what is the big deal . The big deal behind the Ice Cream Sandwich is the consistency is nice and creamy. Sometimes Ice Cream Sandwiches the ice cream is too hard and the ice cream squirts out the side. So after that youll just pour it into a freezersafe dish like this pyrex dish right here. Lined with seran wrap . And that help later when we cut out the Ice Cream Sandwiches. This oil is at 150 degrees. Add this into my funnel. The way a funnel cake works, i dont know if anyone knows this you hold a funnel close it with your finger at the very bottom. To help the batter move along, just spray it with a little nonstick cooking spray. And then carefully youre going to drop the batter into the oil. And this takes a little bit of time but what is fun is you can really play with the shape of the funnel. So im kind of going back and forth. You made the batter from scratch but you can also buy batter right . Yes. I meant to say, funnel cake batter is really easy but you can actually buy it already made at the store, which i have no problem with because then you can kind of get to the fun stuff. I want to move this along. If you have kids at home be careful about this part right here. This is what they look like. So this is the first part of our funnel cake Ice Cream Sandwich. There is a must fda approved medical procedure that uses balloons to help with weight loss. It doesnt really require surgery. Lets in doctor natalie to explain this. So how does this work. Like this. Okay. This is the stomach. These are two balloons that are placed in the stomach. How does it work . A minimally invasive procedure. With endoscopy they stick a tube down into the stomach. Its just air inside. No its sterile saline. They insert two balloons. This doesnt approximate too closely but just to show you the idea here. If you put something in the stomach you are taking place where food normally would be. So were putting in all these doughnuts to show you. A basically it is a very simple concept. If you have something in your stomach in place of food you are going to feel fuller and just not eat as much. That is the theory. Not to give mixed messages. Were using doughnuts as the example. As al pointed out it is also a lifestyle change as well. And the makers of this device make no secret of the fact that these people are counseled and it is also in line with appropriate nutritional counseling and diet and exercise. What kind of weight loss are we talking about . And who should have this . The people who this is for is adults who have a bmi between 30 and 40. And other procedures like gastric bypass for example require the bmi to be much higher. Over 40. So we capture a few more people like this. Aels and one comorbidity for heart disease. Those are the candidates. The procedure itself minimalry invasive. They keep it in six months and take it out. How much weight do they lose . A nominal amount. The people who got the balloons lost about 6. 8 of their body weight and the control percent about 3. 3 . Once the balloons come out . Not everybody keeps it off but a fair number did. And this is in addition to nutritional counseling and everything like that. What about side effects . Again, common but not life threatening. Nausea upset stomach, diarrhea that kind of thing. More serious side effects . The longer the balloons are kept in could include a little more severe. But once again compared to the bypass much less significant risks. How with the lap band does is actually places literally a band around the top of the stomach creating sort of the same illusion of fullness because you cant get as much food in. The lap band is also done minimally invasive. And both are reversible. They can be taken out. Also 25 to 40 failure rate. They do. They do. And i think its partially because when it is loosened or removed that people revert back to their old ways. How much is this going to cost . Good question.
