San jose police have no further information. Flames ripped through a san jose neighborhood engulfing three homes and scorching two others about 4 00 in south san jose. Winds fanned the flames from one house to the next damaging five homes. As Liliana Francisco returned to her san jose home she found something that terrified her, thick black smoke and flames lurching toward her house on snow drive. Her family got out safely, so did her neighbors, including one woman in a wheelchair. We just evacuated everyone. We have People Living with us and told everyone to get out. We got the animals hideoutout and they started to hose the house. Reporter and multiple firefighters fighting the fire. The embers ignited the grass over highway 101. Because of the reports there was evidence that said there was a fence on fire. Dont know exactly what would have caused that. But that is potentially where it started and then spread to the other home. And then by the adjacent homes. Reporter flames engulfed three homes and damaged two others, displacing two people. American red cross volunteers are helping them find a place to stay tonight. They may not have the same roof over their heads but all the people and pets who live here are safe. Right now you can see crews are working to board up this home that was burned earlier today.
