Nayagarh: If village lanes and by-lanes are devoid of scenes like children playing, it’s no surprise. The fact behind this sudden shift in scenes is due to the two recent cases of minor girls being killed by miscreants, forcing parents to keep their children indoors.
According to advocate Amiya Patnaik, the police’ investigation in cases relating to minors going missing or being killed left a lot to be desired. The police are not giving as much importance to such complaints as they ought to and the recent Pari and Swati cases have proven it. This is the reason why people’s dependence on police is constantly declining.
