KILLBUCK High water on the roads in and around the village caused by Sunday's heavy rains likely won't recede until later this week. It's nothing that residents haven't experienced almost every year at this time.
"I've lived here for five years. My wife has grown up here her whole life. It's been like this ever since I've known," said Daniel Blankenship, who lives on Water Street and whose residence was nearly underwater on Monday.
Blankenship said Sunday's flooding, brought on by roughly a week's worth of rain, was the first time this year that the waters had crested so high above the banks of Killbuck Creek. He also has seen an improvement in how far the waters rise since he moved to the village five years ago.
