Reporter good morning, rebecca. Lawmakers at the state house raced to pass this bill late last night with overwhelming bipartisan support. It was immediately signed into law by the states republican governor. Capped off a week long showdown over access to ivf fertility treatments that was deeply personal for families across the state and nation. 159 has passed. Reporter this morning, two weeks after a ruling by alabamas Supreme Court up ended families fertility treatment, a new law will restore ivf in the state. All of us care about families. Reporter state lawmakers approved a bill that gives civil and criminal immunity to ivf clinics and patients. The governor quickly signing it into law, saying alabama supports growing families through ivf. Doctors at one of the three clinics that paused treatments say they now have enough legal cover to resume ivf today. We have kept our lab fully operational so we would be positioned to resume care as soon as possible. Reporter but the law does not answer the central and divisive question in the state Supreme Court ruling classifying frozen embryos as people. This is a quick resuming the services but does not address the long term problem. Reporter families drove two hours to the capitol to watch as lawmakers debated their fertility care. The National Guard deploying the subway here in new york. In philadelphia, theyre trying to fend off safety fears at the bus stop. This Morning Police in philadelphia are looking for who ever stepped out of this car and opened fire on a group of High School Students boarding a public bus. Multiple people shot. Random people exited the vehicle and just shot multiple times. Over 30 times they fired as the kids were getting onto the bus. Reporter overnight police releasing this video to the public seeking any information. It was the fourth shooting this week near a public bus in philadelphia. We will not be held hostage. We will use every legal tool in the tool box to ensure the Public Health and safety of the people of our city. Reporter over night the u. S. Taking out two drones over yemen that posed a threat to commercial ships in the region. This morning dramatic video of the after math of that deadly attack on a cargo ship in the gulf this week while the ship billowed smoke, the indian navy rescuing survivors and the wounded from the commercial vessel which was hit by a Ballistic Missile fired by the iranian backed houthi militants in yemen. Three crew members were killed. That is the first time that has happened. And three were also critically injured. The u. S. And britain have already conducted large scale attacks against houthi targets within 150 of them. The houthis keep on striking these ships. A huge problem in these very busy shipping lanes. In addition to these fatalities and injury, the houthis sunk a ship in the red sea carrying 21 tons of fertilizer. The u. S. Continues to say they will hold the houthis account so far retaliation is not working, at least not working quickly. There have been almost daily attacks on vessels in the region. Rebecca . Now, the fire you see in that video is fuel burning off. This morning an investigation under way after flames come flying outs of an engine on a United Airlines flight. Got 167 souls on board. We had engine stall on the left engine. Reporter united flight 1118 was flying from houston to fort meyers, florida, monday when passengers say 15 minutes into the flight the plane started to shake. The cabin was dark but it suddenly illuminated with red, orange colors. The engine was on the fritz. Reporter in this video, you can see the flames shooting from that engine, under the wing of the boeing 737. David bringer also on board. Panic set in. Lot of people were screaming and crying. Reporter united saying in a statement the incident was due to an engine issue. The flight landed safely and the passengers deplaned normally. And separately, you remember of course that door plug flying off the boeing max 9. Well, yesterday the ntsb chair told lawmakers that boeing had not fully cooperated with that investigation.
