Hey, reggie, good morning to you. That neighbor that we talked to just talked about how he was trying to get back inside of this neighborhood after trying to take his wife to work. But officials on scene told him its not safe for him to come back inside of this neighborhood because they say there was some kind of a live or active shooter inside of this neighborhood. Now, this is all happening near the area of rachel road and heather drive, which is still a few minutes up the road from where we are at here at k road. I also got off the phone with another neighbor inside of this neighborhood who says the swat team came in sometime in the past hour, and it appears as though theres some kind of a Police Standoff involving one of their neighbors. Now one neighbor that we talked to who left to take his wife to work and wasnt able to get back in. Deputies at the roadblock told him it wasnt safe because there was an active shooter in the neighborhood. I woke up this morning to my cell phone alert. Um, stay in place, alert and in about ten 20 minutes after that, um, my landline goes off and i got a message in there. Say well contact you when its safe to come back out. Yeah, but i had to take my wife to work and they let me out. But theyre not letting me in. There are several homes and apartment complex and a school. Montalvo elementary school, all within the parameters of this lockdown. Although officials havent said how school will be impacted by this. Now, sheriffs deputies are urging everyone in this perimeter to stay inside, close and lock all windows and doors until this situation is resolved. Theyre also telling neighbors to stay off the phone and do not call 911 unless you need to report a life threatening emergency, and be sure to report any suspicious activity to the Sheriffs Office again. This morning, neighbors are raising concerns about the danger of chemicals coming from the valero refinery in benicia. It started with a malfunction friday night that caused a Chemical Spill and release of the highly toxic gas, Hydrogen Sulfide. After the incident, the refinerys ground level monitoring showed a huge spike in Hydrogen Sulfide levels. Hours later, the citizen run benicia air Monitoring System also showed large levels of the chemical in the air as much as 100 parts per billion, the Fire Department says. At that level, the chemical could have led to some Health Problems if you were exposed for several hours. The levels that we were seeing in the neighborhoods were something where you wouldnt want to be in it for hours and hours and hours, but an hour or two, youre going to be okay.
