As those numbers rise, the cdc is considering shortening the quarantine period for people who have been potentially exposed. Currently it recommends two weeks, but they could change guidelines to 7 to 10 days. A person would need a negative test before ending quarantine. Dr. Anthony fauci says he can understand why the cdc might want do this. He spoke this morning on gma. When you have the full extent of the quarantine time, it makes people reluctant to get tested because they dont want to say, well, im tested now i have to stay out of work, i may lose money. Im not getting subsidized and i might even lose my job. Dr. Fauci is saying if you shorten the quarantine period people will feel more confident they can keep their jobs if they have to quarantine after testing positive. As we head into the holiday weekend, dr. Fauci has this message for the american people. Vaccines are right on the horizon. If we can just hang in there a bit longer and continue to do the simple mitigation things that we are talking about all the time, the masks, the distancing, the avoiding crowds, particularly indoor. If we do those things well get through it. Thats my final plea before the holiday. You can watch dr. Faucis full interview on gma at 7 00 after abc7 news. One option is taking the train. Amtrak is running trains at about 50 capacity. Everything from schedules to payments are assessed through an app so it can be a contactless experience. Matt willis says this graph shows a shift in soc socioeconomic and racial dynamics. Latino cases in green went down from 66 in september to 44 ini november. White cases went up. Dr. Willis says indoor gatherings are to blame. People gathering to watch a Football Game is another example.
