Blue skies this hour. Temperatures in the 50s and 60s. Sunny and warm by this afternoon with inland areas reaching the mid80s around the bay, and at the coast, upper 60s to low 70s. In florida, a poll shows trump carrying a narrow twopoint average. This morning abcs rachel is following the candidates. Here at home, were certainly seeing californians gets out the vote, out of the 21 million registered in the state, more than 10 million, nearly half, have already returned their mailin ballots. Its not just the presidency. There are those state props with major potential impacts for years to come that were voting on well. Reporter rosea vaughn made a trip this morning to vote. The former home of the warriors has been transformed into a Voting Center in Alameda County. We the people have a voice. If we have the voice, we need to speak. Reporter you can still vote here if you dont feel comfortable going inside. We do want our voters to know they have other options. They have curbside voting where we can bring their ballot out to them and they can vote in their car in this parking lot or they can drive through if they have their ballot already that we mailed to them. Reporter josie mooney just voted in her halloween costume. I lost my absentee ballot, i think i threw it out with a bunch of newspapers. Ive never not voted. So i wanted to come early. Have a wonderful day, thanks for voting. Reporter cars were lined up at the Alameda County courthouse. 20yearold catanni is voting for the first time. Early voting is happening outdoors on the courthouse steps. A Record Number of people have already voted. We are at 520,000 votes as of this morning received so far, which is 54 of our registered voters. Reporter here in marin county, 29 locations now open for inperson early voting. 60 of the county has already voted by mail. Volunteers are helping out at this Voting Center, at the novato library. Feels like this year is the most important time ive ever voted, and ive voted in every election since i was eligible. Reporter the bay area making sure their vote and their voice is heard. Cornell barnard, abc 7 news. In San Francisco, a ballot dropoff location opened outside chase center at the facilitys thrive city area. Warriors head coach steve kerr was there to greet fans and cast his own ballot. Were trying to make it as easy as possible to exercise your vote. Its important for everybody to have that right and to have easy access. The dropbox location will be open now through election day. The warriors practice facility in oakland and the arena for the Santa Cruz Warriors are also being used as polling sites and dropoff locations. In the south bay, nearly 100 locations opened in santa clara county. We stopped at one at levis stadium in santa clara. The stadium was chosen as a way to make it exciting and easy for fans to come out to vote. On election day hours will expand from 7 00 a. M. To 8 00 p. M. Were making sure youre completely prepared when you vote. Com election. In the north bay, marin transit is offering free rides through election day. That will also help encourage voter turnout. Fares will be waived for riders at the same time. The marin government reports ridership levels are 60 of normal because of the pandemic but that the benefits of doing this will outweigh the costs and theyll consider offering this for future elections. After months of rush to go get Homeless People in San Francisco off the streets and into hotels because of the pandemic, they will now start to be moved out. Starting tomorrow, more than 500 Homeless People will be relocated. But theres no clear plan on where theyll go. Case managers will work with individuals to figure out their best option. The first phase of relocation is set to finish by the end of the year. Currently an estimated 2,400 Homeless People are housed in hotels throughout the city. Happening today in the east bay, parents are planning to hold a rally to reopen c costa public schools. This is scheduled to start outside the office of education at Pleasant Hill at 3 00 this afternoon. The group says distancerning just isnt working and that schools have had seven months to prepare to bring students back. All right. Oaklands annual Community Thanksgiving dinner will look different this year because of the pandemic. For the past 28 years, thousands of low income families and Homeless People have been served a holiday feast at one location. This is video of last years event at the oakland marriott. Its a fantastic event, but you can see, its hard to social distance. So this year, thats where meals will be cooked but then theyll be distributed to food pantries. Several thousand will be delivered directly to people who are homebound. Oaklands day of thanks will be held on tuesday, november 24, two days before the official holiday. If you looked up last night, you may have seen a rare blue moon. The phenomenon happens whenever there are two full moons in the same month, hence the saying once in a blue moon. This was the first blue moon on halloween since 1944. Here is a look from over the bay bridge. Such a beautiful, beautiful sight. In case youre wondering, the term blue moon has nothing do do with color. The moon can sometimes appear blue because of dust or smoke particles in the earths atmosphere. Half moon bay, the cool spot with the fog, is 52 degrees right now. Were showing you the Golden Gate Bridge. What youll notice is the winds are coming offshore with that flag blowing. And that means any time we have offshore winds, the land breeze comes and that means warmer temperatures and plenty of sunshine. Weve got 60s and 50s. Santa rosa, 55. Novato, 59. Napa, fairfield, in the low 60s. Livermore at 56 degrees. It will be a great day to head to the beach. I wanted to show you this pretty shot of santa cruz. Again, it will be 80 degrees there later on today. But watch out, there will be some large waves and strong rip currents. The forecast, basically warm and sunny today and even tomorrow with Daylight Saving ending today, sunset is going to be at 5 10 tonight, youll start to see it get dark earlier on. Then were tracking a chance of rain, end of week. It looks like our best chance is friday into saturday. Temperatures will definitely be cooler by next weekend.
