Details. Larry . Ama, dan, the coronavirus shut down sports for months. The nba restarted in a bubble, but that bubble may be about to burst. Maybe it already did. Not sure tonight. But the lakers and the clippers voted to boycott the rest of the playoffs following that shooting by police in wisconsin. Exactly four years ago today, 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick chose to sit during the National Anthem to protest Police Brutality and social inequality. Well, today, the Milwaukee Bucks decided not to play their game with orlando in protest of the Police Shooting of jacob blake on sunday. Despite the overwhelming plea for change there has been no action, so our focus today cannot be on basketball. Like dominos, teams began calling off games. Three Major League Baseball games, including tonights giants dodgers contest postponed. The wnba and Major League Soccer also postponing play. I dont think it should require athletes needing to boycott playoff games to remind us black lives matter and that Police Brutality is unacceptable. This is its clear theyre committed to pressuring team owners, politicians and police to make real changes. Its amazing. Why while we keep loving this country and the country is not loving back. Tennis star naomi osaka is bowing out of her match, tweeting, before i am an athlete, i am a black woman, and as a black woman, i feel there are much more important matters at hand that need immediate attention rather than watching me play tennis. The question now, what happens next . Very proud of the players. I dont know the next steps. Dont really care what the next steps are because the first steps are to garner attention. We have everyones attention around the world right now. The nba board of governors will meet tomorrow. The players will meet as well. Reportedly there is some friction amongst the players because the bucks didnt tell other teams they were planning on not playing. They didnt tell the union either. They just did it and everyone was forced to go along. Really unlikely the three playoff games on the schedule tomorrow are going to be played. The season may or may not be over. Were just not sure. More coming up in sports. Dan . All up in the air for the moment. Sop dramatic today, larry. The news. Wheel protesters and police are facing off tonight in wisconsin during a fourth night of protests following the Police Shooting of jacob blake.
