At least 965 structures have been destroyed, many of them are homes. Heres a quick look at where these fires are located. Te lnu complex is in the north bay primarily in napa and sonoma counties. The scu complex goes into santa clara, alameda and contra costa counties, and theres the czu in santa cruz and san mateo counties. The big concern for firefighters now, a red flag warning and the chance of more lightning tomorrow. Some communities arent taking any chances because of the weather the Alameda County sheriff today issued an evacuation warning for some unincorporated parts of the county. Where there are few exit routes. Abc 7 news meteorologist drew tuma is here now with more on the red flag conditions. Drew . We are tracking the threat of not only thunderstorms with lightning thunderstorm but gusty winds. Two things we desperately do not need right now. A red flag warning will go into effect for the entire bay area starting early tomorrow morning at 5 00 a. M. For that threat of lightning and gusty winds, which means new fires could start or current fires could spread. Right now on live doppler 7 it is a quiet picture with the active scan around the region, but well widen out, add on satellite and show you what we are tracking in the short term. This cluster of cloud cover right here. This is the remnants of what was hurricane genevieve and its moisture is moving into california over the next 24 to 36 hours. And that will be the instigating factor once again like last weekend to spark some storms. The good news, the early indications it looks like this event were tracking for tomorrow does not look nearly as extreme as last sundays. But we are still tracking the threat for thunderstorms. In the main time frame were looking at right now is tomorrow evening overnight into early monday morning. Storms with lightning again could spark new fires and we are tracking the threat of those thunderstorms creating isolated gusty winds which could spread current fires. Pg e says theyre not planning a Public Safety power shutoff due to the weather system tomorrow. In a tweet the agency said the weather system does not meet their threshold. The states Electricity Agency cal iso says they are not anticipating rotating outages but it doesnt hurt to prepare. Outages can still be caused by the weather. In ben lomond, luz pena, abc 7 news. The other massive fire burning is the scu lightning complex. That fire exploded to 339,000 acres growing 48,000 more acres just today. That now makes its second largest fire in california history. The fire remains 10 contained and is affecting five different counties, all experiencing mandatory evacuation orders. 20,000 structures are threatened. Five have been destroyed. Cal fire tweeted out this photo last night showing two crew members folding and protecting an American Flag on the canyon zone of the fire. Governor newsom toured the scu lightning complex fire today. He met with several First Responders and got to survey some of the damage both from the sky and on the ground. Cal fire officials today said theyre still making do with limited resources but some help is on the way. Some out of state crews have arrived and National Guard troops are just days away from being able to help. We are working through the training process. Its a sevenday process to bring on National Guard hand crews. Theyre being mobilized right now in training and theyll be available here in the next few days. Sad news tonight for two San Francisco firefighters. They lost their homes in the wildfires according to this tweet from their union. Firefighters from San Francisco are also working far from home, providing mutual aid to crews on the front lines across Northern California. President trump approved californias request for declaring a major disaster in ten counties earlier today. This means the federal government will provide money to assist state, tribal, and local governments responding to the crisis. Residents of affected counties can qualify for housing and unemployment assistance. They can apply for lowinterest loans as well to cover uninsured property losses. And people can loss receive crisis counseling while they deal with hardships caused by the fires. A Santa Cruz County homeowner is warning about looters who are capitalizing on the evacuations. He shared this video of his home in felton being burglarized on friday. Blink camera systems sent this to his phone when motion was detected at the the doosh. Congressman Jared Huffman says the drone is able to pinpoint exactly where lightning strikes so firefighters can be notified. The drone is specially equipped with scanning technology that can see through poor air quality. Yeah, and eric, what we know right now is this next round of thunderstorms were tracking is nowhere near as severe as what we experienced last weekend with the thousands of lightning strikes. But lightning is still in the forecast next 24 to 48 hours, something we done need right now. The air quality forecast over the next two days, again, in the afternoon that is when air quality tends to be worse. Well find it fluctuating between poor and unhealthy throughout the entire bay area. So we do have a spare the air alert tomorrow and another one on monday for that unhealthy air quality. So take it easy if you are outdoors because that smoke is still thick in our atmosphere at times. Right now numbers, its 59 in the city but still warm inland. 77 in brentwood. 69 in san jose. About 59 in santa rosa and 74 that current temperature in vallejo. Overnight tonight we have a really compressed marine layer right now, fog pretty much confined to the immediate coastline and thats about it. Well have haze in our atmosphere and numbers mainly falling into the mid 50s to mid 60s over the next 12 hours. Heres the big picture what we are tracking. Live doppler 7 along with satellite we have High Pressure right over the four corners. That is supplying the heat, especially in the inland east bay in the afternoons. And then were tracking moisture from what was hurricane genevieve a few days ago. It is now really fallen apart but it still has a lot of moisture associated with it. And some of that moisture is going to get funneled again into california thanks to that area of High Pressure over the four corners. Lets go hour by hour, show you whats in store as we head into our sunday. Well start off tomorrow morning, the clock at 8 00 a. M. , and its a really quiet start to our day. We do expect some Coastal Cloud cover, some haze in our sky. As we go throughout the afternoon well likely start to see some showers if not storms fire up close to the monterey coast, even in the sierra as well, and were going to watch this initial line of showers very closely because it looks like as we approach sunset between 7 00 and 8 00 p. M. Tomorrow evening on our sunday that is our first chance of seeing some showers and potential storms develop around the bay area. And then well watch that line advance to the north. Early monday morning by 2 30 in the morning there you can see especially in the north bay and points to the north that line of showers is still with us. There is the threat that those storms could produce more lghtning and even some locally gus
