This is the night joe biden will formally be nominated as the partys president ial nominee. A Security Guard who shouted out i love you will be doing the honors. It will be following a 30minute roll call in severlma, alabama. It usually takes hours when it is done in person. We have video from the moment of the dnc when it happened four years ago. They have also just announce that had cindy mccain will appear via audio tonight so this is a video of what will air. Today, state senators scott weiner announced his support. Hes joining us live via zoom. Thanks for your time. What would a bidenharris presidency mean for california and specifically the bay area . Well, it would be tremendous for our community. For many of the reasons that it would be great for the whole country that we would have an administration that was focused on ending this pandemic, and on bringing our economy back, and investing in infrastructure and doing all the things that we need an administration to do. We are in huge need of infrastructure investment. Wave very large immigrant population. Our immigrant neighbors who are trying to survive and run businesses and work and raise families here. And they have been stigmatized and attacked by this administration. That will end. So i think california and the bay area will prosper under joe biden and Vice President kamala harris. Obviously, a different situation this year because of the pandemic. You dont have thousands in an arena cheering for their favorite candidates. That sort of things. What do you want to see to motivate voters . Yeah. Of course it is disappointing not to have the inperson energy. Thats true of life in general. There is a lot of energy when were together that we have to resume. With that said, the beauty of internet engagement is that more people can be engaged. I think were already seeing an enormous number of people who are watching and rooting for this convention. Negligent the future of our country, the survival of our country, i dont want to be melo dramatic but it depends on this administration. It is so destructive. We need new leadership. This will help mobilize and energize people to make phone calls, to do texting campaigns, to get out there virtually if not physically for this election. We heard the postmaster general say any changes they had in mind would be made after the election. Weve already had mailboxes removed. In some places, one thing weve learned about donald trump and his cronies is that they have no boundaries. Every time we think, they cant possibly do that, they do it.
